BC Racing Coilover issue
So i just installed these coilovers. The ride is great and all, but i am having issues with the ride height. Ive seen a couple people on here running these coilovers and pretty low in the front, with mine maxed you can still fit a finger in between the tire and the fender.
Can anyone help? ![]() ![]() ![]() |

i cant speak from experience but you since you're dropping it all the way down just remove the lock collars, they are only there to lock the spring perch in place - which wont apply to you. looks like that should give you another 1/4 inch or so..

well that was what i was thinking, but the actual strut cant be turned down anymore even if remove the collars. If i take them out i lose the preload on the springs

I actually had these on a 2003 accord and I was really surprised how much I liked them. The quality of the ride and the 30 way settings I was able to have a really comfortable street setup and a really tight highway setup where the roads were much nicer. I had rear extensions to adjust the damping. Is this offered for our e90's? And what do you think of the ride so far?

are you sure? that's the first thing I looked at and it appears that they are sunk down to the collar. Might just be an optical illusion, but you can see the shoulder of the collar on the left side of the shock. OP, how long have they been installed? It sometimes takes a few days for the springs to settle. They might get a bit lower after a bit of time. |

its been about a week since theve been installed, i doubled checked to make sure they were the right coils and they are. So i took out 2 collars and loosen the preload, i know not the best thing. but at least it is slammed and still drives nicely

What do you mean when you say you removed two collars? I just installed the BC Racing coils and I'm having the same issue. Thanks in advance for any help.

Make sure the strut is all the way in the knuckle! http://bmw.flipp.net/d/1697-2/DSCF4184.JPG See in the attached picture how far the strut is in? You can see its atleast like 2-3 inches in the knuckle or sleeve whatever you want to call it. |

I just installed BC Racing on my 2008 E92, but the front is set to it's lowest setting and the height is still not low enough. If I loosen the preload, and go lower, maybe have the tires tucked under the fender, would I come across a lot of issues? I know it's not recommended, i'm just not happy with the way it's sitting at the front.

Thats how the bc's should look on the knuckle (shorter than the other brands) and preloading does shit on the dd. Just drop it and go for the looks like 90% of online racers.
