A few seconds to start in the morning

When I start the car in the mornings, it usually takes a few 'tickovers' for it to get the engine started. This can range from 2-3 seconds. Starting it after that (later on in the day) is no problem and happens almost straight away.

Is this quite normal behaviour?

Just timed the wifes E92 320i Auto, it started from cold virtually instantly.
