Nice yellow/orange 7-series. I plan on swinging by Abu Dhabi/Dubai/Muscat as part of my vacation this spring -- I'll definitely stop in here to check it out.

I like the skin color 7 series. Call me ignorant but do they wear those garments because of religious tradition or cultural tradition?

Both and plus it makes them look all similar/equal ... just like school boys and gurls in uniform ....

uniformity! no one is above/superior (at first look) physically over anyone else...

in some ways, it's nice because no discrimination can be done within such society (but of course i am not ignorant that discrimination still exist no matter what)

but at least at first view, it would seem that everyone is on "equal" ground, (i wish i could be on equal ground as them ) (as far as money goes)
The garments tends to say that what's important is what's inside of each person, not how the person look on the outside...

By extension since they cannot personalize/individualize themselves,
so that's why they prefer to customize their car instead ...

7 series best sellers over there ... as opposed to us poor americans with the 3 series as best sellers ... looks like The Golden Wild West Has moved a bit east for the Black Gold ...

sickening the amount of money people have, and that can drop a significant amount of cash without even blinking

I've been to UAE, Dubai specifically, and it really is an island of prosperity in the Middle East.

Excellent explanation. Individual superficiality in terms of grandiose, especially within social gatherings, isn't accepted and the equality of each other is stressed. The clothing, known as a "thobe" helps this.

I found that too, then the large windows and the eye candy in the windows do speak for themselves

I'm reminded of a song ... only change a few words

How much is that Bimmer in the window?
The one with the flashy new front
How much is that Bimmer in the window?
I do hope that Bimmer for sale

I must take a trip to Doha
And leave my poor sweetheart alone
If he has a Bimmer, he won't be lonesome
And the Bimmer will have a good home

How much is that Bimmer in the window?
The one with the individual colour
How much is that Bimmer in the window?
I do hope that Bimmer for sale

I read in the paper there are robbers
With flashlights that shine in the dark
My love needs a Bimmer to protect him
And scare them away with loud alarm

I don't want a bunny or a kitty
I don't want a parrot that talks
I don't want a bowl of little fishies
He can't take a goldfish for a memorable drive

How much is that Bimmer in the window?
The one with the sexy new desingned line
How much is that Bimmer in the window?
I do hope that Bimmer for sale
I do hope that Bimmer for sale

Buy more 5 and 7 series than 3 series in a calendar year. Now thats how you spend money.

LOL @ Individual.

Sort of wealthy communism?

Interesting. I didn't know that.

In my country we are used to let's say the exact opposite in society/culture. Sometimes I condemn my country for this(egoism), but the way you explain it (& DrivenbyE30 too) I think both of those cultures have their flaws I guess....

I had doubt that its an Alpina B7.. because of the rims .. Just FYI , in Abu Dhabi the dealer can install an Alpina front lip on the car ..

Hello! The garment is called a thobe as issabmw pointed out or a kandoora. It is the national dress. It is equivalent to a suit. You wear it to work, you wear it to your wedding day, you wear it when you go out to the mall. The head garment you wear on top with the black halo like device is what makes it formal. If you wear it bandana style then it is informal. As far as individualization goes, you can pretty much custom make them the way you like, starting from the cloth to the way it is tailored. Each country in the arab world has a different style and you could know a person's origin from the way it is tailored.

The explanation of equality is correct but the individualization for what seems to be a white cloth is infinite. They come in colors too. I could go on for ages about them. I am from the UAE and wear them all the time. They are very comfy and helps beat the heat. If it is really hot outside, you can just place your sleeve on one of the air conditioning vents and you get an internal ventilation cooling system

I hope this explanation is of any help.
