Ride quality is subjective. Both are good systems. In terms of progressive vs linear springs, I believe the KW and Bilstein's are progressive in their winding but not their function. Once the car is weight loaded, both of their springs should act like a linear spring, since the closer wound "progressive" coils are already coilbound and are no longer active. They are only progressive in nature in their unloaded state. If you know something different, please add to the comments. Why don't people try to post in an already established thread on this subject rather than continually opening new threads. It makes it very difficult to keep track of all the information.

Drove E90 with KW V2 and Bilstein PSS9 before easily making my decision for the KW V2. Both cars were set at the middle setting. The KW was much smoother than PSS9 but handles much more precisely.

KW V2 has more adjustments than the PSS9. The PSS9 has 9 presets where KW offers precise adjustments. The height range on the KW is much better as well. Stainless steel shock bodies is a big plus for me being close to the ocean but for the east coasters, it should be a MUST. If you see some pics of my buddies E46 M3 PSS9 that came from the east coast, you would cry.

KW FTW!!!

Bilstein has a lifetime warrenty on PSS9's, so im sure they handle rust/heat just fine.

I think the problem is that bilsteins are just well made coilovers without the glamor.

In terms of settings. How do you know at which setting your at on the KW's when you twist the knob. Pss9 have 9 exact setting so there is no guess work involved.

I think the KW's do have more height adjustability though.

Again, I respect both companys and there both awsome products. Just trying to make an argument for the good of the community.

Seems like alot of praising for both models. Any 2 of you live locally so we can have a FAIR comparison back to back?

At end of next week I could meet up with someone here in Miami, Fl. if they want to test out the 2 coilovers and report back to the board.

Im thinking to have my PSS9 set to 4, approx. 11.11% +/- per click.

I think most folks are happy with whichever they chose. I haven't heard anyone with KW or PSS9's complain about either. I got KW V2's because I have a wife, and I know that they are a touch more compliant over harsh roads. I was willing to sacrifice some handling for them. Having driven on them for 5k km now I can say that I personally do not think you sacrifice the handling, but do get a slightly more complaint ride. That said, some PSS9 owners do feel they have a better turn in.

Another factor for me was the height adjustments. I wanted to be able to go as low as possible without rubbing, which I do not think I could have done with PSS9's.

I don't think you will be unhappy with either.

Not to go OT, but I'm thinking of waiting around for the EDC set-ups. The Bilstein B-16 looks awesome, but the KW system looks interesting too. Any thoughts on which system will be better?

I have the PSS9's and am very happen with them. Can't comment on the KW V2's other than to say that it's interesting that about 2-3 weeks ago everyone said the PSS9's were a smoother and thus better for a primary street/light track car.

Funny how things change over time.

PSS9's even give you a black plastic cap to cover the hole in the trunk carpet for easy rear Adjustment. Nice touch.

Sounds like a very good decision

My decision was made after riding in both the PSS9 car and V2.

KW is by far the best mod, getting a ride in a car prior to purchasing was good enough to sell me. After having it on the car, I want everyone to have it

Just installed some KWv2 and I was really impressed.

240$ installation
1500$ shipped

I run it in the middle and lowered it so there is NO wheel gap.

It rides much smoother than I though.

Originally I was going to do H&R sport springs on stock shocks, I am glad I went the distance and did full coilovers.
