Download the My BMW app from the app store on iPhone or on your Mac. When you bought your BMW you were given login information that consists of your e-mail address and a password you chose. Both the e-mail and password need to be input into the app in all caps. If you don't have your login information, call BMW assist at 888-333-6118.

Dude, that's showing you where YOU are, not where the car is. You need to press the button in the upper right hand corner and you need to be within 1.5 miles of your car for this to work which you probably are not.

This app worked great in its original UK version. I noticed the updated version is very slow and is not very responsitive.

App is a cool "check this out" kind of thing but i find it takes way to long to locate the car (sends data to and from or something) and locking/unlocking also takes way to long making it virtually useless unless you like standing by the car waiting for it to unlock. Only use would be in an emergency..........had to get in the car and didn't have keys with you, but you would look like a weirdo standing around the car waiting for the app to unlock the doors.

The only thing I can personally see this being useful for is if it notified me when my alarm was going off.. so that I could sprint to my car with the closest melee weapon at hand

And in this day and age, you sir would most likely be bringing a knife to a gunfight so it's probably a good thing the app doesn't do as you wish

I didn't have to input my email in upper case - my password is numeric so. As a matter of fact when I look at the app it shows my user ID as lower case email.

Yeah, I knew that, i was jut being snarky I think this app is kind of stupid to me for all the hype its creating.. When I'm near my car, I know where it is and what it's doing. Its when im far from it that id like to know it will be there when i come back Big deal, I can lock my doors, but no alarm, and I can unlock it. I could always send directions to it, or better, have the concierge send them. But I guess each of us differs in whats good and important to us, so I'll stop ragging on this app now.

lol I concealed carry a 9mm but I would hate to have to bring it out for something as petty as vehicle robbery. I would feel much better clubbing them in the ass with a candlestick or something.

When I spoke with BMW Assist they said the majority of calls they're getting right now are for problems with the app. I'm sure when they get pissed enough from all the calls they'll be quick to post a good update addressing all the issues. Some of the onscreen messages I get from the app say to look at the FAQ's. When I asked about the FAQ's I was told by BMW Assist, "We're working on those." It seems like they launched it prematurely.
