I think we will all be tearing our hair out...

when the 325 330 335 and m3 coupes come out.

I HATE when this happens....but watever nothing u can really do. It will always be like...you buy something thats new and hot, only for it to be outdated less than a year later.

Anyone think there are possibilities of trading in 325i leases for 330ci lease?

It's not like it's going to be a big surprise when the coupes come out. The people who bought the sedans either couldn't wait for the coupes, or wanted a four door. There shouldn't be any regrets. By the time the coupes come out, all the sedan owners will have gotten a chance to enjoy their cars for over a year.

Personally, I don't want a coupe...I've always wanted a four door. Just more convenient.

I'm going to leave my hair in. I wanted a four door so that's what I bought. If I really wanted a coupe I would have waited or just bought the old body style. As far as the M3 goes, too rich for my blood, I'm saving for a house.

I can't have a coupe, just not practical enough when hauling a child. My E46 330Ci was a coupe, got to be a real PITA.

BTW, typically the coupes are better looking.

my old e36 320 4 door served me well for 6 1/2 years without being outdated. My old e46 4 door 323 also served me well for 6 1/2 years without being outdated and my 4 door e90 will no doubt do the same till the next model comes out. Both the e36 and e46 gave me very fair trade in values as well - certainly no outdating there. In fact I know that the e46 is back out on the road with a new owner and hopefully the e36 is out there as well (just hoping it wass not in an accident & undriveable).

I hear what you are saying but check this response out as a gentle discussion point. Its not loud or aggresive.

If you want a 2 door car, then its no real use discussing the 4 door car because its the 2 door you want and of course you have to wait. That doesn't mean that the 4 door is outdated once the 2 door car arrives. It will only be a year or so in production when the 2 door arrives and the model variety usually lasts about 6 1/2 to 7 years.

Along the way the 4 door may be updated & upgraded and one could compare the 2 different types of 4 door varients, but you cannot fairly compare a 4 door and a 2 door as they serve different people.

please do not misinterpret this post as a flame or an attack on you. its just pointing out the flaws in your initial post that unfaily compares 2 different types of cars.

You wouldn't believe how much I loved the coupe. I once sat in one in a dealership and refused to come out. haha, the love is there.

However, as most have pointed out, it is practicality that takes over the decision. Getting to the back seats in a coupe is just torture.

i know exactly where youre coming from. When i said outdated i meant that the 3 series we all have...although its the best 3 series out right now, will be outdated performance wise (performance = one of the top priority of bmws).

By performance i dont really mean speed so much as looks (coupes have more aggressive styling), handling (coupes always have better handling), and exclusivity (the 3 series coupes will have a distinct sporty exhaust note and will be much more recognizable on the road than the sedan).

If the coupe was out right now i would 100% get that instead of the sedan...but seeing as my old lease was over, and i cant go on without having a car, i settled for a 3 sedan since its the best possible choice in this price range.
