Vehicle software update 09 335i

Hi All I'm planning a combox retrofit and my vehicle software has to be updated. The local dealer won't do it unless there's an issue with the vehicle - so would this have been carried out during a routine service anyway? Can I do it myself?

Technically shouldn't need to do it since you have a 335i. BMW would have reprogrammed the entire vehicle when it was recalled for the N54 service campaign back in 2013.

Was it worldwide? I collect the car tomorrow so would any update be recorded in the logbook?

Was it worldwide?
Yes, because it addressed common faults on the N54 motor and injectors.
