Leave your car with a buddy for a week.....

Hi all,

I've been over in the states for a wee while and asked a mate of mine who owns a detailing business to tint my windows on my e90. He emailed me some pictures whilst I was away as I also took the opportunity to get the car detailed at the same time. Anyway, here's some of the photo's he sent me. Can't wait to collect it and get her booked in for the remap

Almost identical to my car! Looks like a great detailing job. I need to get the rest of my windows tinted.

Not so sure on the number plate......

Neither am I Doc, I bought the car off my father in law last November and it's his plate. He bought a new 135i coupe and he asked me to leave this plate on the car until the new registrations in March when he'd swap it onto his 135i. I went along with that because I got such a great deal on the car (he'd owned it from new, mega low miles etc etc) plus sometimes you have to keep the in-laws happy

Nice

I left my other car with a buddy for a week and he lost the keys and left the doors unlocked. With friends like that I dont need enemies!

If I left my car with any of my friends, I promise it definatley would not be detailed but more than likely have bald tyres, a few speeding fines etc etc! Nice job, car looks very good, i'd be treating your mate to a crate of his favourite!

Car looks very nice mate, le mans looks brilliant when polished up.
I had my E93 detailed the back end of last year all the swirls I had on the car were gone.
Last few washes I've noticed swirls slowly making a return which is doing my tits in to be honest.
Always use 2 buckets when washing as well.

Check your drying towel, your other microfibre cloths and washmit. Eventually they do come back, little bit of wash marring etc... Though if cloths are getting on a bit it will inflict some minor damage that will build up

Thanks all, I'm over the moon with it, Craig has done an amazing job on it. To say Le Mans isn't a colour I initially liked so much - sometimes you can be proven very wrong

Cheers Raf, spoiler is great and I'm very pleased with it. Not been on this forum long but already feel at home and have bought some lovely trinkets off Raf (boot spoiler) and Chris ((lemans 330d) - darkline rear lights).

Anyway, I picked the car up this afternoon and took my own camera to take some photos for myself so here they are:

What rear spoiler is that? ACS? Or AERO Type 3 (bmw performance) ?

I like it. Although you should get a carbon rear diffuser now to tie it together.. And some nicer alloys

Hehehe

Sorry dont mean to be negetive but I also detail has a hobby so i end up spotting every little blemish! When i buy a new car i always change the number plates straight away, its amazing how they can age the car.

This car looks fantastic though... I am still in two minds between pre lci 330d or lci.

The new 330d is very rare to get the right spec at the right price

Thanks all, I'm very pleased with it to say the least. I know about the number plate and hence the reason for not 'hiding it' - they're coming off pdq anyway with the plate change so I'm not going to spend the cash on new plates for the matter of a few days.

Craig's firm is called Distinctive Detailing and he's based in Sheffield. Straightforward down to earth guy who won't pull your pants down and is a true car enthusiast himself (that's his Evo in the background which is a 2 owner car, no 500 of 500 UK import Evo 5 in that blue (realms blue???) with mega low mileage and is gorgeous). He's a concours winner himself in the past with Fords so knows what he's up to
