I drove a SULEV 328 dealership loaner for 5 weeks while they sorted out my 335i's PPK and performance suspension.

The difference in handling was negligible, and the difference in power was tremendous compared to my 335i prior to the mods. After the mods, my 335i's handling was way beyond the 328.

thats just retarded, unless the one u drove wasnt working properly ur crazy, ill take the jb3 out of my car and shit all over any 328i around me, then ill put my jb3 back in and shit on them some more, and then when i stop being such a tool and put some real mods on my car ill shit all over 328s, m3, and a whole lot of other cars.

its a 335, u drive a 328....its way faster than ur car, has more potential than your car end of story

to be honest, i agree w/ OP.

few years back when i was shopping for an E90, i test drove both a 328i and 335i. the difference in driving experience and was marginal for ME and MYSELF ONLY. They 335i did not wow me like i thought i would. Since i was coming from a beater Celica, i was just happy to drive any bimmer.

You went from a 328 to a 335 and werent impressed, then look into a faster car. Lol if over 70hp and 100ft lbs of torque more wasnt enough for you, then why are you driving a 328 in the first place?

No, because then he'll say his 328 will out handle the f10 m5, and that it feels heavy..so only thing that will make op happy is zr1 lol

I think it all depends from what car your switching from. For example, when I bought my 335i It really felt slow compared to 2008 chipped C63. But again I understand that its 530 HP against 300. However, after the tune the car feels faster and although not as fast as an AMG I think it still has a lot of potential not to mention the price difference for a tune of 450 compared to the mercedes which was around $1500 for the Kleemann Flash. I find that parts fr BMW are much more cheaper than the rest and the amount of power you get is unbeatable.

Highly doubt OP will say such stupid things. Lets not go overboard. He obviously expected much more from 335i. 335i didn't live up to his expectations. Its like watching a great movie trailer with the actual film very disappointing. Everyone, including myself says how great 335i is. He heard everything, test drove, and expected a whole new different car. It wasn't. It was a 328 with two small turbos on it, and that is all he should've expected (which he didn't). Totally understandable.

To some, the difference is big. To some, the different is small.
For you and me, it's a big difference. For him, it's not.

I have a 328 w/ sports package as well. The handling is great, but the power is lacking just a tad bit(refer to comment below for solution). I had a loaner 335i Convertible and hated it. Mostly because of the lack of the sports package, felt like I was driving a bus. However, I had a loaner 135i w/ M-Sport package... and I loved it. Cuggly lil thing, but you won't care once you're driving it.

If you want to make your 328i the car it should be, get the AA tune & the 3-stage manifold. You'd have 270hp tuned :-). Still not a 335i, but it would have just enough power.

OP: I believe you mentioned you weren't sure if the test car was warmed up? And you have a powerbox on your 328? Which basically gives you 80% throttle at 30% pedal pressure, not amazed at all you were not impressed.

The biggest benefit of getting a 335 over the 328 is the relatively cheap hp you can get with a tune. $400 gets you 70-80hp gain. Never going to get that on a 328. You'd probably have to spend 10k.

Drive my Shelby GT500 and then tell me how your 335i feels.
no offense, but a shelby gt500 will get owned by a lot of members on this forum with 335i's. i beat shelby gt500's regularly, and i beat my friend's roush 427r even worse

A few things are missing in the analysis of OP's post.

One, did he drove it long enough for the turbos to warm up?

Two, he compared 75-80 pulls.

Three, w/e i don't give a f*ck straight six 328 fanboy turbos r fur losers that overcompensate blahabalhafhasdfljk adflj
