I finally did it!

I did a halogen to xenon conversion! So happy with the visibility and the looks! I took a few pictures with my phone of the results.

However, I did run into a problem...after i put them in I took my car to get washed and some moisture built up in the passenger side headlight. So I checked the cover of the headlight and I found out that the cover wasn't the problem. It turns out it was the headlight itself, one of the little plastic tabs that holds cover tightly broke so its just a tad loose and some moisture is coming in. Any recommendations on how to fix this? I'm planning on taking some velcro so i can strap it into the proper position.

Here you can kind of see the moisture that built up, it has somewhat faded since it got washed

the best thing 2 do is take it apart (HUGE PITA), fix the tab somehow, n then re-seal it.

The moisture is completely gone now. I fixed the cover by taking industrial strength velcro and fastening it so its now more secure. The cover is now about as tight as the other headlight. I hope this fixes my problem.

Or you could fill it with like military grade sealant!

I've been debating doing this for awhile on my wife's '07 328xi. She drives back roads and the halogens are unsatisfactory. Where did you get your parts? Did you follow a particular DIY thread?

ha yeah I have been told that, but it rained today and no moisture built up in the headlight.

Well you have to do some wiring. There is a diy:http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=143927

However, I did not follow that. A guy here called DESI4life10 showed me how to do the wiring inside of the headlight. He told me that I needed to tap the black wire leading into the ballast with the brown wire going into the high beam. He posted a picture on this thread: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=584388

Honestly, I got pretty lucky. I searched on craigslist for some e90 xenon headlights and found a guy selling a pair for $280, which included a ballast. I got xenon bulbs from a guy who codes my car for $75. Then I got a ballast for $100 (from a BMW parts dealer that I also found on craigslist). You can check the listings on the forum to see if anyone is selling them or you can post an ad on the forum saying you want to buy some. However, be prepared to pay because these headlights are expensive when sold on here.

I was lucky to even get these ones. It's not like I had 1,000 dollars to spend. So there won't be a next time
