I like this car. I thought about it last year. Aside from the prestige and better looks (IMO), I wondered how this would compare to the Jetta Sportswagen. I test drove the latter but never the Audi. I think this car looks nice and clean. I guess it does not come with Quattro though, right?

No Quattro, sadly - but still lots of fun to drive. Totally different animal than the 335d, though. It easily gets north of 42-45 mpg, has just enough torque on its 2.0 I4 to give you pause, but it's not *fast* feeling like the 335d is. All told, tt's really a nice little car - my wife fell in love with it very quickly after she started driving it. Fit and finish is excellent.

We got lucky - ours was the last non white/black/gray/silver TDI with the Titanium package available in the U.S. when we found it in December...had it shipped from California. This is the last model year for this iteration, though. They are moving to a sedan and a new sportback with a hybrid powerplant is coming later. No diesel sportback anymore, though.

struggling on what to replace my wrangler with.
it's like having two cars in one, the jeep. winter/summer fun.
I don't want another sports car.
I want to get around in 1-3" snow, rain, comfy, efficient, hatchback or fold down seats.
sort of fun too.
so far I'm stuck on a gti/golf tdi, or volvo maybe.

I have had two Foresters (a 2005 and a 2012) that have served me well, although they don't meet some of your criterion of efficiency (about 22-23 average around town) or hatchback. Other than that they have been reliable, comfortable, smooth. Of course I'd rather have the turbo but that's a bit impractical since it needs high-test and the mileage is worse and I'm sure the reliability must not be as good. Volvo's are cool, but the only one that rings my chimes is the S60 at the moment. I could easily own a Golf GTI/TDI or even a Jetta Sportswagen TDI.

We love the Golf TDI. Fun to drive, great mileage, and the Tech Package gives us a lot of the amenities we wanted at a sticker $10K less than the A3. I am a musician and having the ability to load all of my gear in for gigs is great. Fit and finish are of higher quality than the Jetta TDI. This being said, next year's MKVII TDI and possibly GTD look VERY promising.

2012 VW Jetta Sportwagon TDI dsg....great car and very useful for carrying stuff

2008 VW Rabbit 2.5...I bought this for my daughter when she ws in college. 80,000 miles and not one lick of trouble....none.

2004 Nissan Titan KC 2x4...bought this one new...122,000 miles, no issues, no squeeks or rattles. Ive never had a ford, chev, dodge stay as tight as this is for this many miles. Its a very under-rated truck

1969 Plymouth hemi roadrunner, triple black, numbers matching...its like having a mutual fund that can get in and run 11 sec quarter miles at will...lol

1968 barracuda 340..I built this as a clone to the famous Mopar Action "one lap valiant". Its great fun to have a 40 yr old Plymouth that can spank corvettes on Mulholland Hwy

1972 240Z.... my first nice car purchased in 1974. Today has just 50,000 miles
