I want mention that AUSTRALIA PROFESSIONAL (PREMIUM) have 4.5GB and BUSINESS (MOTION) have about 1GB.
These maps fit for car with HDD navi CIC:
E60,E61,E63,64 - from 11/2008.
E81,E82,E87,88,E90,91,92,93 - from 09/2008.
E70/71 - from 10/2009.
E84 - from SOP.
F01/02/03/04, F10/11/18, F07, F25 - from SOP.

I'm a bit confused as to what exactly is upgraded.
I've got the Business Nav, and currently need to have the map DVD in for it to work.

What info is updated via the USB? Do I keep on using the same Nav DVD that I've got in the car?

Only CIC units can use this, CCC (like you have) cannot be updated by this method.

Yours can definitely be updated by USB. You can borrow my usb stick if you like

Also, when Advan finally have their autologic up and running, you should be able to do that Bluetooth Audio update without having to go to the dealer

Thanks! I reckon the usb stick won't be much use if I don't have the code right? And I can get it from you for $197 (other thread)? Before jumping in, is there a list of the recent map updates from 2010 to 2012? Just wondering if it's worth it just for NSW alone. I rarely go to other states using my car.

I'll keep an eye on the forum for Advan.

How long did it take you guys to download - mine has just started and saying some 11 hours and that's with Bigpond high speed cable???

Took most of the night then had to do it twice as file got corrupted. Speed is not related to your ISP (I'm on bigpond cable also).

I downloaded the USB Map files in under an hour.

But with FTPs is dependent on how much traffic he's generating - sounds like business is booming and that is slowing dl's.

No biggy, set up the download, go to bed.... and when you awake your new maps are ready for installation... all for well under a 100 clams - gotta be happy with that!!

we should all share usb sticks /dvd's. sieras has totally left me high and dry with pre-paid (official) fsc codes lol....*sigh*

the only true difference between official map codes and genuine are that the dealers (FAST?) data will show u are entitled to that update and if they ever reprogram your car, they wont corrupt your maps.

this used to be a great reason to stick to the originals, but on closer inspection, the fsc is linked to the actual map year and region (with ur vin), so even if the dealer downgrades you, you can still manually update.

oh well, lesson learnt!

PerthBMW have professional PREMIUM system with a large screen, the map files is 5 times larger than the small screen with the bussines MOTION system, so download is several times more.

Downloaded over night so all good. Do you now have to extract the file using "Winrar" or "Windowa"? I have never heard of them before...

I have in the maind, that files you have extract with WINRAR program, and pc OS have been Windows- not MAC OS or LINUX.

Well all down loaded and unzipped onto a thumb drive...big test tomorrow morning when i place it into the the glovebox USB and see what happens.

I thought I had read somewhere that if you have Premium and say you download 3 cd's worth of data, you have to have 3 USB sticks as well... one cd's worth of data on each usb... because during the process it asks for a new cd and you have to swap it out.. and in your case, this is where you would swap out the new usb..??

.....then again, I could have just dreamt it
