Cic Map Update 2012

Hey Guys,

I didn't realise how many of you with the CIC (Hard Disk) based navigation systems were interested in updating to the latest maps.

If your car is one of the following:

1-Series E81/E82/E87/E88 manufactured from September 2008
3-Series E90/E91/E92/E93 manufactured from September 2008
5-Series F07/F10/F11 manufactured from September 2009 (E60/61 manufactured from January 2009 in Europe)
6-Series E63/E64 manufactured from September 2009
7-Series F01/F02 manufactured from September 2008
X5 E70 manufactured from September 2009

Then it is almost guaranteed that you have CIC based navigation system. There are 2 kinds of systems, the smaller screen business (or as BMW AG call it MOTION) and the wide screen professional (or as BMW AG call it Premium).

CIC Professional NAV (Premium)
If you have wide screen navigation that looks like the image below, then you have the PREMIUM or PROFESSIONAL navigation system and must update your map files by DVD.

DVD Update Disk Part number: 65902218944
CIC Code Part Number: 65902218715

Price to you: $197

CIC Business NAV (MOTION)
If you have the smaller screen NAV (and didnt pay a large premium to 'upgrade' your nav system) then you have the BUSINESS or MOTION system and must update your maps by USB in glove box.

USB Update Part number: 65902218727
CIC Code Part number: 65902218953

Price to you $197

If you want it, PM me

More than happy to lend you the DVD or USB while you update.

It's the code thats expensive though, and it's based on your VIN number, so my code wont work on yours

Im delayed on the meth, took a little longer to sew my car back up after a few mod installs

Does yours run with a dvd ie you need the dvd in to run the nav? if so, then its not the HDD version.

You can upgrade the DVd here: http://gpsunderground.com/forum/bmw/...stralia-5.html

You should be able to down load the 2010 version from that site and burn the DVD

When you update the maps, does the nav make better decisions as to which route is the fastest? Mine has no idea and always manages to find the slowest/longest way possible.

And i can't believe no one has updated the CCC nav since 2010!

For CIC, when you update the maps, the logic is kept the same. If you want to update the logic of the CIC system, you must have the software updated by the dealer or a workshop that has an AUTOLOGIC machine.

For CCC, I have a disk full of firmware updates that will update your unit to improve the navigation logic. Be warned, there is a chance that you kill your CCC unit if the update doesn't go through properly.

Just to reiterate, for the price posted on page 1 you get:

USB Stick with update for your navigation unit, which you can then reuse for your own purposes
Map certificate that you keep

The whole process is quite quick. Updating from USB takes no more than 30 mins.

Is this CCC update done through a DVD or the OBD port?

And compared to genuine BMW prices can I say that if this is the track people wish to go down, it is a great deal !!

Your own USB Stick (or DVD) with maps loaded, posted directly to your home - with license certificate with your own personal registration code for your maps.. for this low "luster fixed price" is a great deal... well done br0!
