Moser BMW's E90 Build Thread UPDATED 4/28/15

Hi all,

I decided since looking through a bunch of these build threads and being very interested I would contribute with one of my own. I drive a 2008 328i. I purchased the car last February after having my 1st car (04 mustang gt) totaled as result of being rear ended on the highway. With the insurance coming through and some very generous parents, I was able to purchase this beauty after many weeks of searching.

1st day home
80k miles
6 speed manual transmission
Completely stock

As of now the mod list is:
-Active Autowerke Signature n52 Exhaust
-5% tint all around
-Black Plasti Dip Rims (Changing Soon)
-Gloss Blue painted brake calipers
-Black Kidney Grills
-M3 Front Bumper with Foglight Delete
-2 12' JL Audio Subwoofers
-1 Planet Audio 2500 Watt Amp
-OEM Blacklines
-BMS Power Box
-Stage 2 Si Air Intake by aFe
-Carbon Fiber Interior Trim

Mods to come:
-Carbon Fiber E-Brake Handle
-KW V1 Coilovers
-Looking into Linea Corse 818's, Forgestar SDC F14's, or some BBS Reps.
-Custom Retrofit Headlights with DCM Corona Rings (Possibly OSS?)

Now on to the pictures

Also, None of these pictures are up to professional quality and were taken by my friends and I so if you are looking for professional photography, I apologize. (Edit: I have purchased a Canon Rebel T5 and will be looking to grow on my Instagram @Moserbmw, as well as on my youtube seen in the videos posted.)

First things first, for anyone who cares, this was my mustang after the accident

At the dealer:

First Drive Home:

5% tints and a picture with my buddies brz at school:

A photoshoot at a state park in Jersey with my fresh plasti dipped rims and painted brake calipers:

Photoshoot at the Hawks Nest (Famous road used to film many car commercials):

[url=http://s660.photobucket.com/user/ffsowned/media/E90%20Build%20Thread/IMG_0933.jpg.html]

JL Subwoofers and Planet Audio Amp installed:

OEM Blacklines Installed:

aFe Intake and BMS Power Box Installed:

M3 Replica Bumper Installed:

Another shoot at the hawks nest: (Shot with my new Canon Rebel T5)

Carbon Fiber Interior Trim:

A video on the install and some sound clips of the Active Autowerke Signature N52 Exhaust :

Also a quick little drive by at the Hawks Nest messing around on my camera:

I'd appreciate any criticism or ideas on what to do next. Thanks for looking

If you have read this far and are interested in following the progress of this build you can find me on Instagram @Moserbmw to get more frequent updates. I follow back

Hey bro welcome to the forums and congrats on the car. I also own an '08 328i with the same stock wheels lol!
So far your off to a good start with the mods but I would suggest getting a set of wheels asap 'cause the plasti dip doesn't look good IMO lol.

Thanks for sharing the pics, and keep us posted.

grats on the new car! be careful with 5% tint, not sure how the laws are where you live but i'd get ticketed.

I agree, I just think the stock aluminum rims looked even worse in my opinion so the plasti dip is just temporary until I can get my hands on a set of rims. Thanks for the kind words.

good start.

as a next step, i recommend you get wheels/tires and suspension before jumping to a 1M front bumper. the 1M front is way too aggressive to "only" have plastidipped 16s on.

i wouldn't have gotten the subs and amp but then again, i have the premium sound package in my E90. also, i'd skip carbon fiber roundels.

from modifying several cars over the years, my advice is to keep it clean and simple. don't overcomplicate the mods and stick to quality products and not the best bang for the buck. and ultimately, the decisions are up to you. keep on moddin'!

Congrats, welcome to the club! lol You've got a good start going, and like Dan said, I'd keep it simple for now. Wheels, tires, suspension, etc. Speaking from experience lol, I got a little ahead of myself and now I'm paying for it haha

Where in Jersey is Hawks road?

Welcome! Imo I would get a set of bigger wheels before getting the 1m bumper, it's an awesome bumper, but needs a lot of other supporting mods to look right. Also I'd avoid depo headlights, I have a set and have had nothing but problems. I's suggest getting an OEM set with halos or retrofit projectors and/or halos into your halogen lights. I'm excited to see what's next!

Also, thanks everyone for the direction. I knew I wanted to get new rims and suspension but I didn't know when. It looks like that will be the next major mod. I've been looking into Stance Wheels; anyone have any comments on those? And also, what are your favorite color rims for a black bmw, I was thinking either stay black or gunmetal. Personally I am not a fan of the silver/aluminum look.

Definitely got rid of the throttle lag, but as far as notable hp gains I highly doubt it. With the exhaust, PBX, and Intake it really improved on low end torque and jump off the start in lower gears.

Yea, I had an AT n52 and it was awesome. Just didn't know how useful it would be on an MT, but if it is noticeable I will definitely keep that in mind.
