Is this sound normal?

So on my 08 335i I heard a sound that sounds like a motor running, like from a seat or even dvd drive working.

It's only when the car is on, And goes away at times. I tested the hvac system, idrive, etc - and it's definitely something else possibly in the dash/engine/under car.

Any ideas? When the car is turned iff, it goes away.

No, but "Does this sound normal" does.

And you might be hearing the fuel pump, or something engaging/disengaging/settling in the engine.

Since you have Navigation, it is most likely the Navi DVD.

I ejected the dvd too, noise was the same. I figured it may be a fuel pump noise.

I have something similar from in the dash. Can't figure it out, sounds like a fan spinning.

It's the backup turbos in the dash spooling down. It kicks in if one of the main turbos loose pressure.

I've noticed it too, I think it's the low pressure fuel pump. If you unlock the car from outside while standing by it (not running), you'll hear it kick in. Pretty sure it's the same sound during normal driving.
