put the key on your chin and it uses your head as an antenna and it will increase the range.

Yeah, that's a non-CA FOB. It is likely that the rechargeable Li-ION internal battery is getting weak and not holding a full charge. I replaced one once in a FOB and it was not for the squeamish. You have to break the glue that holds the FOB together and then unsolder the battery holder (which is physically stamped to the battery sides), then rig a new battery to fit the holder, or just solder some wires to the new battery and to the board and glue it in place with hot-melt glue, then re-glue the FOB together with CA gel.

He isn't joking.

Use your remote from a distance where it works. Look for parking lights. Works.

Take 10 steps back and try again. Look for parking lights. Doesn't work anymore.

Hold to chin and press button. Works?

Take 10 more steps back and try again with chin. Works?

Repeat and see how far you can go.

Let me know the results. I bet you are shocked.

Everyone who was involved with Alarms and Remote Starts 5 to 20 years ago should have known this trick and should have demonstrated it to their customers.
