hey guys i just picked up my 335i coupe, and i was told that i can modify the iDrive so i can watch actual DVD movies, i didnt buy the tv option so i was wondering if any of you guys know how to mod it. thanks for you time!

You have to buy a module. If you do a quick search for tvandnav2go you should find something.

There is a ACM retrofit from BMW that when combined with other products will give you DVD capability

Here are install & operating manuals.

Has some other nifty features too. I do not have it so cannot answer any questions. Maybe someone already has and can chime in.

I wonder if we can order the parts from germany and install it here.

or you could ask some german or south american folks for a flash upgrade

convert your car to german and rawk.

let me guess you didn't even try to put vid files in (and do renaming tricks)??

Have you installed this yet what exactly does it let you do ? can you watch DVD's in the dash DVD drive ? or add a seperate DVD ?

CARPC input
and TV-OUT from my phone www.htc.com (touch pro)

Yes it works well. It works like an OEM installation. I would have liked to know the RS232 commands for DVB-T and USB though so I can use that with the CARPC. Failing that I would tap into the K-CAN for that.

Anyway I'm quite happy with the install. The equipment works very well and it is very nice to wire with correct wiring looms.
