FS : CCC professional DVD system **SOLD**

Hi All
Upgraded to the CIC system so this is surplus to requirements. All from a May 08 build E92. Small scratch on the top right of Nav screen. I will sell the console trim separately but the rest as a package. $850 plus postage
Taylor

Excuse my ignorance, but what exactly is a Professional DVD system?.

Is this a plug/play/recode arrangement or are there additional looms adapters needed if upgrading from SA663 audio or similar?,obviously a new dash pad is required to fit the screen.

I'd be keen to know what te cost was to upgrade, how you did it and how much labour was involved. I wanted a N54 but wouldn't mind CCC

I have to declare the upgrade has been a bit of a trial, tbh.
Total cost has been about 3 grand including coding. Still no Internet or plugin working but hopefully a final coding session on Monday night will fix that.
All parts were purchased from an outfit called Bimmerretrofit in Canada. Look up their website or go onto the main e90post site and look on the technical forums, they have a few threads running on there.
The package turned up promptly but without any instructions, which were soon emailed to me but turned out to be piss-poor in my opinion. On close inspection was obvious the components were used/preowned. I can't remember seeing anything about that on the website but I may be wrong.
After several attempts I couldn't get anything to work so handed it all over to a BMW tech specialist company who claimed they had done a few before. I went to collect the vehicle and all they'd done was get the nav working and wanted $700. I then arranged the coding session with Bimmerretrofit presuming my 700 bucks had got it wired up correctly - guess what?? I had one pissed of Canadian coder at the other end of my laptop wanting to know wtf I was playing at..
So another coding session was arranged and I in the meantime I figured out the wiring myself.
Now I have Internet radio, BMW apps, high-def screen navi, album art, streamed music and hopefully by Monday 11pm (10am Canada time) interwebs and Plugin.
Another thing I found out is the new iDrive controller doesn't properly fit the pre-lci E92 console trim no matter how much "trimming of the plastic" is required!
Well you did ask...!!

Crazy, Patryk is your best bet for doing the retrofits.

If you keep getting ripped off on the coding side, let me send you a cable and remote code it for you. I've never done this retrofit before, but would like to put in a few hours to make it work if i can

To be fair to Bimmerretrofit it wasn't their fault I couldnt get the head unit to work and didn't trust myself to figure it out, or that there was no competent tech installer in WA.
Bimmerretrofit spend most of their time being polite to pissed off owners who havent got and can't afford all the upgrades, and want free advice about how to do it on the cheap.
Go for it Luster, let me know if I can be any help.
