Ok I have my lights pretty much adjusted and at the height I want. My only thing now is the passenger light always seems a bit dimmer than the driver side when I see the lights reflected off of the bumper of the car in front of me. No matter how much I adjust it, the passernger side light doesn't ever seem to be right on and bright like the driver side light. But when you look at the light cut off they match.

Anyone else having this issue? I think my passenger light needs to be tilter to the left or right slightly but I don't think that's possible for DIY.

If they give me a 335 for the day, then it will be worth the drive. They weren't even sure if they had a loaner I could use for the day. Not cool when I live so far away. My local dealer is 7 miles away, but I'm trying to give the seller the benefit of the doubt. I think I could handle playing with a few screws until the lights are "just right".

Im guessing if you ask your passenger, he/she will say their side of the car is brighter.

No, I've checked that, it's not the angle of where your sitting int he car.

You can see it even standing outside of the car.

I guess I'm trying to figure out why the Driver side light right now is dead on and the passenger side light isn't as bright on reflections. Just irritating to me. It's almost there but not quite.

happened to me too, my friend was driving ahead and he said driver side lights were bright but the passenger light went out but i saw the reflection on his rear bumper and both were always on. i adjusted both sides and we drove off..he said he couldnt see anything now, so i thought i might have set it too low. i tried adjusting both angles later on the night but i gave up coz i dunno what should i use for a pinpoint, its either too low or too high (i can never get the satisfactory level)
i'm taking it to the dealer on wednesday and have them adjust the angle. i've done that before on my halo headlights but i dunno about this euro-xenon, hopefully they'll do it too

This is going to come off as a really dumb question but what does '\__ \__' represent? I'm getting ready to modify the angle of the lights myself but just for my own general knowledge.

I adjusted the lights last night and I have to say that I can see so much better at night now. I did 2 full counter-clockwise turns. The difference is definitely noticable. I went for a drive last night on some very dark and curvy roads and visibility has improved 100%!

Thanks everyone!

If you look at the light cast upon a wall, there is a definite point where the light is cut off at the top; you will see this also on the road with no streetlights. That is represented by the "__"on the "graphic". But also, along the left side the light pattern rises at almost a 45 angle upwards and, in the posters diagram, to the left. This is represented by the "\". As the poster said, he thinks his came from England which is probable since my UK lights do the same thing. This is so that it will illuminate the sheep in the fields, er, I mean, the signs on the left side of the road (we drive on the left here, JICYDK). I don't know whether the US Xenons have the same horizontal cut-off and rise but if it does its pattern should be "__/ __/" to illuminate the signs on the right.

Hope this helps.

So far...2 nights of driving and I have yet to have someone high beam me. I see so much better on dark lit or no lit roads.

I check to see if I notice the on-coming driver's face but I do not so I'm assuming that the headlights were not adjusted too high.

I love my 3 more now!!!!

Yellow screw on the 328

This is my first post on this forum, but I have learnt a lot from what has been posted here. I just got a '07 328i sedan and the headlights seemed a little low to me as well... i spent about an 20 mins trying to find the right screw...

as it happens, the screw is yellow colored on the new 328's... just a tip if someone is having any trouble... there's some amazing info on the forum, keep up the good work guys

Hi guys,
seems like everybody is happy with the adjustment.
Could somebody please tell me if the screw location is the same for halogen lights?
Thanks.

I think this picture illustrates the turn signal /spot light that are in E92's. Not regular driving lights.

bludgeon29...I have a 328xi and I haven't seen any yellow screws that you mentioned. There's a picture in this forum that pinpoints the exact location of where the screws are located.

bludgeon29...here's a picture of where the screw may be located (thanks to ska). I turned the screw no more 2 times (Full & Counter-Clockwise) and I've yet to get flashed at by on-coming traffic.

I hope this helps.

I found the location, it is exactly the same with the xenon housing. I adjusted the headlight and it is at the same level now. Thanks all. Can we also adjust the headlight to move a little bit to the right/left besides the height adjustment?

yes you can! the screws are right under a rubber cap located on the frame of the car. Once you remove that little cap you will see the screw on your headlight
