Just picked up my e90 335i Weds, this is going to be the first offical mod. I was so excited to drive the car at night to see what real BMW HIDs are like, an I was very disapointed. MY 2006 Accords halogen reflector headlights are currently 5x better than these xenons. I will attempt a half a turn or so with a wall and see what happens. I am almost scared driving the car right now, I simply can't see what is a ahead of me.

Say what you wish. The cutoff on the bmw xenons on "MY" 2007 335i sedan is about 25ft in front of my car. I was about to take the car back to the dealer to have them realign the lights untill I saw this thread. Something is not right with my lamps. The cutoff in my 2004 Acura TSX was nothing compared to these.

Here's a good reference for aiming your HID lights:

Anything above the level of your headlight can possibly blind on-coming traffic.

25 feet is the correct distance for the cutoff--see my picture above.

You have to remember that your TSX had a clear lens in the HID projector, which made the cutoff line very sharp and distinct. The TSX projector is also made by Stanley of Japan, which is a superior design.

Furthermore, the 335i lens isn't entirely clear, and there's also that line that runs horizontally in the center of the lens that softens the cutoff line. IIRC, the 335i projector is a Hella or a Valeo, which leaves a bit to be desired in the world of HID (if you know what I mean).

whoaw, 1 rotation? what good would that do? I set up my car 25 feet apart pointing towards a wall. Turned my car on, and turned the headlights on and the lights didn't even touch the wall at all!! In fact, it was only halfway towards the wall (15 feet). I turned it counterclockwise, and it moved forward by 1 or 2 feet. On the 10th turn or something, it started to touch the wall. And I turned it two more times, it was at 2 inch below the headlight level! I knew it because the wall happened to have a number which is as high as a civic headlight next to it.

How could you all just do 2 turns and say it's much better? I'm courteous towards other drivers, but my headlight was wayyyyy too low until the point that I think it's too dangerous to drive with about 5 - 10 feet visibility! So overall, I did 12 turns to get to the point where it's 2 inch below the headlight level.

E92 xenon adjustment

On the E92, the screw is a little tight to get to. It was easy to turn with just my hand, it is right above the light tucked in there. Real simple fix.

So glad I started looking around the forum and found this. Just got an E90 and I thought I was supposed to get night vision goggles. I don't know how it happened (CPO so either previous owner or the dealer ****ed it up). And the driver side is way lower than the passenger side.

I have the Euro light switch in my car, and it has the headlight angle adjustment knob on the left hand side of the switch, anyone know why this knob doesn't work in the US E90's?

Headlight adjustment screw proplem!!!!

Hi, my car is e90 2006 330xi. I have problem with my passanger side headlight. Before, E90's passenger side xenon headlights angle was set just a little bit lower than left one. So after reading one of the post on this website, and locating where adjustment screw was, i decided to turn it just as that post indicated to raise the angle of that headlight to equal level. Turning it to whichever side didn't bring any result. I didn't see any change in the angle of the light(and YES, I was doing it with the lights on and by the wall). I completly READ other DIY post. Now, that passenger headlight's angle is pointing to the ground, and i can't do anything to bring it back up. I figured that maybe adjustment screw was broken or cracked. Getting frustrated of not resolving that issue I called BMW dealer and set appointment. Today, I went to the dealer and they looked at it and that's what they excactly wrote on the invoice paper: "CLIENT WAS ADVISED ADJUSTMENT SCREW IS STRIPPED OUT, CLIENT NEEDS A NEW RIGHT FRONT HEADLAMP ASSEMBLY $1,445.00 PLUS TAXES. CLIENT DECLINED AT THIS TIME..." I declined because I'm not paying for whole headlight because of one little screw, right? So, can you guys tell me if it is fixable? Can I just replace that adjustment screw? if yes, how can i remove the old one, and where can I get that part/screw from? Thanks!!!!!
