I can code out the warm/cold bulb checks on your tails. I believe (but am not sure) that there's an alternate method of coding where you basically convince your car that it came with LCIs from the factory rather than telling it to ignore bulb errors, but if that actually exists I don't know how to do it. Still, the end result of either method is pretty much the same, except perhaps in the case of actual bulb temperature problems. If you're interested in coming up to Austin to get that done along with any other coding you might want, shoot me a PM. I code for free.

I'll be up there this weekend if you can??? I don't care if it's just the warm/cold bulb check. I just don't want errors and my blinker to not blink 500 times a milisecond....

Hmm, the last LCI retrofit I did only required bulb check changes. He didn't have the turn signal problem, but it looks like it depends heavily on whose kit you buy and what version of the lighting module you have; BMW has had 3-4 since MY2006, they didn't always change in step with model years, and I believe different body styles got newer modules at different times.

I don't have the knowledge to figure out what module you have and then code appropriately, so I'm probably not your man for this particular job, but shoot Mike Benvo a PM (that's his nick on the forum as well as his name). He has an easy remote coding solution and can do TONS of stuff for you. He's not free, but he won't charge anywhere near what that shop quoted you. I also know him personally and can attest he's a great guy, and he's got a great rep on the forum. His coding thread is here: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=472123.

Well, they're OEM as far as I know. OK, I bought them from a member on here but he said they're the same ones as from bimmian.com...<<<which I thought were OEM?

Anyway...I know that when the car doesn't recognize the signal (i.e. it's not plugged in/malfunctioning), it will blink fast. I don't see how this wouldn't happen to anyone installing these? Even from Tischer.

So I would think disabling the check should do it....

I just pm'd him.

He said that just disabling won't do it for the fast blinking. And he says he knows how to do it. So I guess he'll send you the coding?

I'm waiting for him to respond..

Cool! I'll check in with him to see if maybe the two of us can meet up sometime when he can remote in and get the coding done and/or if he can let me know what to do. That way he won't have to send out the coding cable to you since I already have one. I'm happy to make myself available, but it'll be up to Mike since it'll be his gig, so if he wants to go the tag-team route I'm sure he'll get in touch with both of us.

As for the fast blink, it's possible that the other person whose LCI lights I coded was using aftermarket clones that compensated for that issue rather than true OEM, but yes after I responded to you I found several threads mentioning the fast blink issue -- but there were also several different solutions all depending on what lighting module is currently in the car.

Just FYI - the fast-blink with LEDs is sometimes caused by an older mechanical blinker relay that senses resistance. When LEDs are used, the resistance/load is lower and it acts like a bulb is missing. The newer blinker relays are electronic and won't have this problem. This blinker is located under the dash near the steering column. They're relatively cheap and aren't too difficult to replace (unplug old, plug-in new).
