Coding back Adaptive Headlights

Last year I was new to coding so I paid to have my AHLs coded on my 2006 E90 330i (ZSP/ZPP/ZCW/NAV) out as one or both were causing the yellow exclamation error and message. Since then I've learnt how to code and have successfully turned things on / off as the case may be.

I now want to re-enable the AHLs so I can troubleshoot and fix them. However, for the life of me I can't seem to get it to work.

I've modified the VO to include $524 as it was missing. I did notice that $522 was already in the VO.

First question; is it ok to have both $522 and $524 in VO?

I changed/checked CHECK_SMC_ERROR to aktiv.

Second question, what is the correct procedure for coding the changes to VO? I just can't seem to get the car to recognize the AHLs.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Add to VO 524 and recode cas, nfrm, rscm and lscm modules. You have to write VO using fa_write function.

Thanks. I did FA_WRITE for the first two, CAS and NFRM but did not know about doing RSCM and LSCM.

Here's the steps I'm using;

1.open NCS expert
2.File-Load profile
3.select EXPERMODE
4.press F1
5.press F3
6.select E89<for E90>
7.press BACK
8.press F3<CHOOSE ECU>
9.select CAS
10.select FA_WRITE from CHANGE JOB
11.press F3<EXECUTE JOB>

Are these steps correct? I assume I just change the ECU for step 9 for the other three, FRM, RSCM and LSCM?

SO you are telling me that you have successfully added $524 to VO?

Steps are as below:

1.open NCS expert
2.File-Load profile
3.select EXPERMODE
4.press F1
5.press F3
6.select E89<for E90>
7.press F2 and write $524 and click OK
8.press BACK
9.press F3<CHOOSE ECU>
10.select CAS
11.select FA_WRITE from CHANGE JOB
12.press F3<EXECUTE JOB>
13. press F1 (change ECU)
14. Select NFRM
15. select FA_WRITE from CHANGE JOB
16.press F3<EXECUTE JOB>

After this your LSCM and RSCM should be visible on the ecus list.

Yes, I already added $524, but obviously what I did after did not "complete" the addition.

Ok. I tried exactly doing what you listed above with no luck. I had to use F4 to choose ECU not F3 in step 9. But I don't see a NFRM when I change ECU's, but there is a FRM.

Also I had to use the SG_CODEREIN (sp) job for LSCM and RSCM as there is no FA_WRITE job for those modules.

WOW. I really didn't think it would be this hard.
