Exclamation Latest 25.02.00 Progman review

Here is my review after 1 day:
  1. New Color schemes and nicer home screen. Also the 4 arrows to navigate through the 4 screens are different now (see picture)
  2. Faster boot up with the --- BMW --- screen showing before it boots
  3. Much faster to move around screens, scroll phone address book, etc..
  4. Seems a bit slower when you are working with the navigation functions
  5. Phone BT connection seems a bit faster (including the downloading phonebook part). Even when on the phone and i enter the car, i used to have to wait 30-40 seconds before it pairs and the other party could hear me and i could not hear him. With the news s/w, it took like 5 secs.
  6. Love the POI search. You can search by name and also enter distance between 5 and 500 miles radius. (see picture)
  7. Results of the search are shown in 2 rows per line. The 2nd line now shows the city info. On top of the results page, there is a next and previous arrows that allows you to scroll through the pages. Also shows entry xx of 100 (see picture)
  8. The "i" show / hide map icons now pulls up a menu with other features like info on location / destination. Useful as you can do it all from the map screen
  9. Lost my NAV address book and all the settings BUT the phone was still paired
  10. Last screen stays up when restarting car (don't have to go back thru menus)
  11. Arrow pops up works and is really useful (the famous fix)
  12. TI instead of TI+ (seems to be no difference) (see picture)
  13. Better car performance (or maybe is it just me?)
  14. Oil level check does not show the actual measurement but just says OK (see picture)

How often do you pair a phone? Pairing takes place once so speed isn't that important. Has nothing to do with when you are on the phone and whether someone can hear you.

I don't know what version I have but it is probably latest.

The RTTI works (well that's a kind word for its behavior) the same as it did, but the navi interface alerts you differently. Now it asks you if you want to take the recommended detour rather than simply rerouting you there.

Go to your menu, then the date/clock setting, and see if the hourly chime is on. It sounds like that's the cause of the beeping.

I can't get this to work. When I say "Navigation Home", it picks the 1st item on the list of route destinations. Usually the last address I used as destination is on that list. I have 25.02.00

One other new thing I noticed but maybe it was there before:
When entering a new address by voice, you could say "Street Spelling" & spell out the name instead of saying it normally which usually list street names that sound like the one you want.

I haven't noticed any new commands, the easiest way to check is to review the OM that has the full list.

"Navigation On" is same as Guidance On (or something like that), the navi starts plotting the course to whatever destination was set last time.

"Navigation" simply turns it on in general.

"Navigation info on" self explanatory I guess.

"Spell" is allowed at certain times during the entry, but it is not always consistent for me, and not intuitive.

When you go there, they would need something to write in the system as a complaint. I told them that the arrow does not pop up when i have guidance on and the map is in the right window. There is a lot of info on this on the forum.

We have an '06 330i that did not have RTTI. It has Nav and Sirius. Will a Progman update now provide RTTI or is it more H/W related?

On my thread in the iDrive section, I posted pictures of most of the new screens (navigation and initial screens. So, you can see them there.

The 3 short beeps and 1 long one is the HOUR CHIME.

You can turn it on or off in the Main Car Settings Menu (I think it's in the TIME and DATE section.)
