Yeah, it's the people that get under their car with just a jack and no jack stands that make it unsafe. Jack stands are there for safety reasons and would not work under a car without them. A lift is nice, but sometimes it is not necessary.
I've looked for the videos, the only videos that I see are the ones on Youtube direct from HPF. |

Alright guys, the exhaust is yelling at me to install her. I'm going to harbor freight tonight and get a jack. I already have 2 jack stands, do you all think I could do this with only placing the rear on stands? Thanks

if you're going to HF, you may as well get another set of jack stands. they're not very expensive

So one of the bolts coming out of the back of one of the stock downpipes sheared instead of coming loose. Will this bolt knock out of the downpipe or is it pressed in for good? We can't seem to get one loose.

I can't thank Garrett "TotalBlackout" enough for taking all of his day to help me install this exhaust. Like he said in the previous post above, one of the downpipe bolts sheared off, and we had to drill it out. That was the majority of the day. Had that bolt not broken off, this would have been a 2-3hour job. I was jacking the car up at 11am, the car was coming off the jack stands around 8:30pm. It was a mind numbing jog, drilling that damn bolt out but it is done and the exhaust sounds amazing. To me this sounds more like a V8 than a 6. Garrett had is GoPro and will be posting vids tonight or tomorrow. We did some in-cabin with the windows down and up, a drive by, and 2 stopped accelerations taking from outside. This is a loud (not bad loud) exhaust, especially when cold, but it mellows out very nicely when warmed up. I didn't get to do some highway driving but I'll give my impression of that hopefully tomorrow. With the windows up and music on, you can hear the exhaust but it in no way overpowers the radio and conversation is not drowned out.

Drone is obviously greater than stock and the Dinan exhaust (I had one on my previous 335i), but not overbearing. Compared to the videos above, I'd definitely say the Gen II has less drone and is not as raspy, especially on downshifts. To answer Jeefs question, I have stock downpipes. I could not get on the highway to get some 75-80 cruise speeds for a drone check, but I’ll get to it sometime this week. I also have the Cobb to install

I'm actually impressed. I don't hear any rasp and sounds like the way the N54 was meant to be heard. Sounds similar to the AE just deeper. A lot cleaner than the Vanguard for sure.
