Unhappy Alarm activated or not?

Hey guys/gals,
I recently purchased a 2006 325i with premium and sport pkgs. So it seems but i tried the panic button to hear what the alarm sounds like and lo n' behold... nothing, no honking or sirens, nothing. Bummer!

Is there an another way to see if the alarm is insalled?

Sorry for the stupid question and thank you for your patience and understanding.
Cheers!

Your alarm makes audible tones when locking and unlocking, unless the previous owner turn it off. I don't know why he or see would, but to each his own. The alarm system is also not standard on the 3-series...maybe all BMWs? Stupid, I know. But I think BMW's logic was that if you're driving a BMW you're pretty well off and probably live in a neighbor hood that doesn't see break ins that often. Regardless of what their theory was, these are 40k+ cars, my Honda came standard with an alarm....in 2000.

You can also see if your clown nose blinks when the doors are locked, I think.

I thought that the alarm was standard, after all it's a BMW, but i digress. BMW must still be in a small niche market, LOL!!!
The clown nose does not blink and that is the reason why I started questioning the alarm. Oh well I'll have to call the dealership and get it fix.
Thanks guys!
Cheers!

Hello, OK... I do have the alarm. if i open the trunk, bonnet or reach inside it goes off. But holding down the truck button doesn't set it off.
Also I don't get audible tone when locking/un-locking.
When the alarm is going off - it's more off a beeping sound rather then a siren. can this be changed? i've looked in every section of the idrive, and i dont have any settings for the alarm.

You can get panic button and alarm chirp coded.
The siren sound can only be changed to this
