Oil Cooler Retrofit and Procede

I searched this forum and cannot find any definitive answer.

I have a procede installed and I was approved for an oil cooler retrofit. I will be going to the dealer in a couple of days for the install. Is it advisable to uninstall the procede? I know it's better to be safe than sorry but there are many steps to uninstall and reinstall the procede that could lead to unexpected issues as well. For work such as oil cooler retrofit, I wouldn't think it will involve any electrical diagnostics? Would I be okay just by loading the stock map? Has any one with procede gone in for oil cooler retrofit yet?

Thanks,
Baron

They won't notice your Procede. They do not open Ecu box for retrofitting oil cooler.

+1. I really wouldn't worry about it.

+2. They won't notice a thing, unless they punch it when they pull into the service area!

I highly suggest you remove it as they need to reprogam the ecu for the oil cooler. This is speaking from experience here.

Thanks, but I guess it's too late, since I already dropped off the car. But I just got a call from the dealer saying that the retrofit was done and they said there were no issues. Hope that is the case.

I just got my car back after the oil cooler retrofit. The install seemed to be fine, despite it was the first car my dealer did. I left my procede when I went to the dealer. According to the service log, the dealer removed the bumper, headlights, air box, changed oil and filter, but no mention of updating any ECU. I noticed that the dealer drove my car for like 5 miles, and the fuel economy dropped quite a bit, so I am thinking that they will notice that my car is not stock. But they didn't mention anything about it and I didn't see any comments about the procede in the service log. I am hoping that the dealer didn't really care.

If they test drove your car for 5 miles, they definitely know it's not stock. Just like how you felt the first time you drove it with the Proceed. Hopefully you got a tech who doesn't care or thought it was cool.

That took huge balls to leave the PROcede in, especially for a service appointment which involved work that would require a test drive...

You must have had a very cool tech since I did the procede removal and installation, I notice that my ecu cover had been tampered with after I received the car back from the dealer.

My car had 8 additional miles on the odometer when I went to pick it up after the oil cooler retrofit.
