Rear Break Sensor Reset?

Hello everyone, hope all are having a good day so far. I own a white coupe 2012 335I, and have my own mechanic and body guy. My mechanic practically does everything on my cars, i don't like taking it in a dealer.

I just recently changed my rear breaks, as they were quite worn out, and for some reason my rear break sensor still states i need service at the same mileage which is in 2900 mls. I figured if i drive it on the new pads, it would automatically reset, however it hasn't. Do i need to replace the entire sensor for it to start from scratch? Or it will auto reset itself in time? It does state they are 'OK', and all systems are 'OK,' however when the light comes on to change my rear breaks, i already know I've just changed it, but don't want the light to stay on. Nothing has happened yet, as it still states i will need to service my rear pads in 2900 mls, but need some help here on how to reset this, or does it do it by itself?

Thank you.

You have to reset it. Instructions are on here somewhere, just search for them.

I can't seem to find the instructions for it, can you please help me with that? I've searched the forum many times, can't seem to find the right thread.

Thank you.

hold the button tht resets trip mileage with the car on. then scroll to the rear brakes with the "bc" lever thing. then hold onto the trip button thing again till it says reset.
