What is this brake wire?

I was swapping tires for the winter when I found this wire just dangling. It is on the front driver side. The front passenger side doesn't have this wire or at least I cant find it. I have no idea what it is or where it plugs into. Any help would be great, thanks!

if its not broken you just plug it back into the brake pad.

Plug it back in, lol. It's so destroyed it looks like a hunk of round plastic. Thanks for the info tho, I'll buy a new one.

I hate these things, I'm capable of checking my pads on a regular basis. Which is why I cut the wire and spliced the two ends together, no more brake light for this guy

So you cut the end off and just tape the two wires together? Sounds good enough to me, il do this until i get a new sensor.

Yepp. Just make sure you cut them so that you can eventually replace the sensor if you want to. But yea just strip both end, twist them together, and tape it up. Be sure to unplug the sensor before doing this, it should be low voltage but better safe than sorry.

You need to reset it for it to go off, from CBS. Make sure you only reset the front brakes. If you try to reset an already half way worn brake sensor, which your rear sensor most probably is, it will set off the light.
