HELP!!! nipple on intake manifold

another one of those threads about that stupid fucking nipple that always brakes on the intake manifold while doing a charge pipe /bov install

someone please tell me theres another way instead of spending 5 hours removing the manifold and tapping a new nipple?????? can i silicone something inside of the broken side and then zip tie the hose onto it after attaching it for extra support... has anyone tried this or thought of it i really dont wanna take off the manifold

thanks for the help

I just broke mine over the weekend turning an hour job into a 5 hour job. If you can remove the throttle body and tap one with out taking the manifold you'll be set. I did not have something to tap it just the broken piece so i took it apart and did a plastic weld with a soldering iron and so additional similar plastic I had sitting around. Now let me tell you that manifold it's a PITA and a big one it has attached some sort of module full of wires and it has 3 T25 screws that are hard to take out. Use a ratchet with a t25 on it. I didnt want to remove the the silicone conection from my charge pipe b/c it came with rip and i managed to install it after all so that made things more complicated. You are inn for treat. Good luck

This why you don't take the hose off the intake, take it apart at the y connection near the bovs. That way if it breaks, jut out any vacuum t in there. Pull the studs out of the head and remove the intake. Intake removal should take 15-20 minutes.

The manifold isn't hard to remove as long as you slide the wire harness underneath off of the mount. If you try to unbolt it it will take for ever. There isn't anything else that's hard.

I used JB Weld, but removed the manifold... it's possible you could do it with manifold installed I guess.

I could not slip the wiring harness off, even with the manifold removed... mine was on there good. Removing the bolts, if you have to, is a bitch.

I think i broke that nipple off my manifold 4 years ago

All I ended up doing was rill it out, tap the hole, and install a brass barb fitting. Took a couple of hours but it's been that way since 2008.

I did this for a friend's car last week. It hardens and sets very quickly - works great. Make sure to slather a lot around where the fracture is as well.

That is something I learned after. I tried to slide it but no luck, although if I have to do it today I will probably be able to slide them. If you have 2 small flat screwdrivers you should be able to get them off. I know is too late but if you ever have to remove a hose the its stuck and you are going to replace , take your time and cut it slowly with clippers
