Rear Ended....

Long story short... Guy hit me, I got out of the car, he said drive around the corner (busy Punt road) and then drove off.....

5-10km/h, luckily I didn't have my foot on the brake too hard, more jumped forward that a hit.

Crease in the middle of the bumper, can feel it but not really see it, 4 or 5 decent scratches on the edge/the top of the bumper (2-5mm deep).

Lines are still straight, bumper not moving, looks like I got away with minimal damage.

Need a new bumper and spray.... Spoke to Stu for a mtech, any recommendations for a spray in Melb? Was thinking of Kerrys Panels in Nunawading.

Sucks to hear that the ss did a runner on you ...presume you didn't manage to get his plates?

Check with Archangel335, he had m3 rep parts painted for his e92.

No luck with Plates, not point going through insurance due to excess and police can't do anything about it....

Sorry to hear mate. But at least it doesn't sound too bad.

In that situation, traffic can go get f'd. You camp and get all the details necessary, then you consider moving if waiting for police/insurance.

Punt Rd, around 7pm Southbound.... So not the easiest place to stop.

Have lodged a police report and there may have been witnesses.

I am more disappointed in myself due to moving

Ah well if the police come through they do, if not I look like I have learnt a valuable lesson for $800-1000.

Major pain in the arse, not just financially but the inconvenience of not having the car whilst its being fixed. As others have said, consider something different and not just a straight fix.

As for recommendations, which side of town are you? I presume South to East, but its a big area.

Garage List
2009 BMW 320d  [0.00]
Sorry to hear about this AJ, I can understand the pain and shit thats going through your mind right now.
I was front ended not long ago, the worst part is all the time and effort wasted.
Also due to so many accidentsss lately, most repairer are out of loan car.
There were about 20+ cars in NSCC yesterday.

But look on the bright side this really give you a good excuss to get the mtech/msport. I am getting mine quoted for mtech too.
For my case, the front bumper and bonnet need replacing. Maybe more

All to best bro.

HUGE +1 to this post. At bare minimum take a photo of their car, with number plate attached, or write down it down before moving.

And then someone needs to make an app where you can upload these photos to a dedicated "Crashed" thread on a forum.

Or it instantly sends an SMS to your parents to notify them that you crashed their car and that if anyone asks, they were driving....

Nice! But Sachin, there comes a time in ever man's life when he has to face this world on his own! Mum and Dad wont be around forever so the turtle technique is only effective for a few years, or until your 30 if you're Armenian
