Airbag code 93A8 Drivers Fnt Airbag

Hi

Just had the dreaded airbag light come on, plugged it on the snap on machine and came up with the above code. I have now reset it and the light has gone. I am wondering if it comes back is it a case of just replacing the drivers airbag? or can it be something else?

Thanks.

Does it point to any specifics? Drivers front airbag - A Pillar, seat, steering?

I'd check the wiring under the seat and ensure its tight and not worked itself out. The others should be in properly, unless they were recently disturbed. Check these out and see how it goes.

Hi

Can anyone help on this, 2 weeks since I reset the airbag light it has come back on, with the code 93A8, is that purely the drivers airbag? or any other sensor?

Hi
Not yet, I have been resetting it for now until it comes up again which is usually is about 1 week. Will take off the airbag and see if the connections are good.
Have you reset your airbag?

Seems I have sorted this for now, I took the airbag off, connectors and plugs seemed fine, but I disconnected and reconnected and reset the airbag light and been good for a week now.

Thanks for this.

Sorry to revive an old thread, but just had this situation with my wife's 2007 Mini R56. I did exactly this (removed drivers airbag and cleaned contacts) then cleared the fault codes using Carly for BMW on iOS and after a few days the fault has not returned. As a precaution I disconnected the battery first and also removed the connectors under both front seats and cleaned with electrical contract cleaner.

that's one way, other is to disconnect the battery, then remove the air bag, the errors coming up mean that the airbag ECU is not seeing both of the airbag's so resetting things some times helps...
