So, today I got around to pulling apart the centre console trim and fitting the sunglasses tray and also removing the snap-in adapter assembly in favour of the oddments tray. All went well with no damaged trim
![]() Loads more room and much better to plug my iPhone into the USB power and Aux and have somewhere nice for it to rest (non-slip too )In case anybody is interested, the armrest insert is the following part: Centre Armrest Storage Insert Tray: 51167118064 (I'm sure you all know about the sunglasses tray part) Good job eh - Watch this space for the exterior tweaks I've made (much more interesting )

Oh tidy! That tray, it replaces where the phone adapter is supposed to be? How hard was it to replace?
Seems a cheap mod as well: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-Genuin...ht_4072wt_1396 |

A very cheap mod
- Pretty easy to replace, I used a trim tool which was basically a screwdriver with a right angle in it to push it up from below once the console trim was out of the way... in fact if it is of interest to people I should probably take out the tray and do some shots and pop it in a DIY...Popped it out and removed 2 connections (easily accessible if you remove the handbrake gaiter also) and just pushed the new tray into place ![]()

Neat - although I actually use my phone holder, with the result that I rarely take it out of the car!
As a matter of interest, what is the catch for that is just forward of the cup holder?? I don't have the cup holder, just a felt lined "hole" for oddments - an LCi "improvement"? Mike |

The switch used to control the aircon to the cupholder, keeping cans cold in the summer.
BMW removed it on LCi models, along with glovebox torch charging port, seat nets, quality sun visors, etc..

I know it seems a bit OTT to have purchased the official BMW USB power adapter, but I already had a Belkin one and although fine, it didn't fit flush whereas this one is bang on as you'd expect... I'm just a sucker for nice aesthetics I guess

Sounds about right... its the whole assembly and a fair price if I'm honest, much better value for money than the £45 usb lead BMW do
![]() Watered down DIY coming soon (watered down since I've got to explain everything retrospectively).

Thread here http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=516366 Apart from getting the trim off the lid, i found it easy enough.
