Should I buy the tire/rim/dent warranty add on for $300 a year?? - BMW 3-Series (E90 E92) Forum

OK, just bought a brand new 328 convertible, should i buy the package that give me unlimited tire rim and dent replacement for 300 per year each year i purchase it for?? I only drive about 8-10,000 miles a year, and I'm in Chicago... thoughts?? I need to know by Monday! Thanks for the help!

yes, i've used this 10 times, do it especially if they're run flats.

I think it's worth it if you have run flats. if not, probably not worth it

To be honest, I never knew this was an option. I think it's one of those better-safe-than-sorry moments. RFTs are not cheap nor are stockies. For less than a dollar a day, I would do it and I don't even know how the road conditions are in Chicago.

it's not available in every State, but if it is a possibility for you, get it. Specially if you do not plan on changing to aftermarket.

Absolutely, without a second thought. Make sure it is the BMW coverage, and not that Allstate crap.

I had it before, and it more than payed for itself. The roads in the Tri state here are absolute shit, and with 19s, I know I'll be using it .

I just went through this with my new e93. i bought the wheel & tire. I have 18" staggered with run flats. I think it's not a great deal, but I've read about too many problems with the low profile wheels and tires to ignore it.

yeah my girlfriend had a '09 335 convertible with the 19 inch rims and popped 2 in one month at 500$ a piece, these are 17 in so i dont think itll be as much a problem but i still am not sure if i should buy em... also, bmw fixes it but its technically an allstate product, is that bad? theirs no deductible or anything

I think it is a toss up. Do you regularly pop tires or rub curbs? A replacement tire from tire rack is about $200 to repair curb rash is $100 on the high end. If you are riding on 17's I wouldn't worry about it. I've been on my 19's since 2007 and repaired two rims for curb rash for a total of $100.

normally i would say no, but since run flats are really expensive and the sidewalls usually dont offer much protection in the sizes that bmw runs i would highly suggest it

FYI i sold cars for years and normally its a money maker for the dealership but the new wheel and tire protection that also offers paintless dent removal is a great deal

If you are a woman yes, this is a must...if you are a man, and have some sort of common sense and vision, you don't really need this. Just be smart and don't drive through pot holes...

i've been driving for 15 years and i have never bent a rim, popped a tire, or curbed a rim...and i live in DC...i've gotten a few flat tires but that's because i can't see the nails on the road...flats can be repaired, i do it myself.

If you are accident prone then i guess this makes sense...

Don't waste your money. How many tires/wheels have you damaged in the last 4 years? You won't spend the total cost of the premium over the course of the coverage, so pay as you go, if you need to repair a wheel or tire.

I've been driving 30,000 miles/year for 36 years. If thats your white 335 in the picture then you havent had your wheels off lately because unless they are forged or you are incredibly lucky I can almost guarantee that they are not perfectly round. Slight bends can be balanced out.

Definitely worth it IMO.. the SA at the dealership where I made the purchase gave me some good insight..

If your tires are starting to lose traction/grip.. "accidentally run over a nail" and get them replaced for 5 finger freee

Not only that, if you really do run over a nail or screw up your rims/wheels, this warranty will pay for it itself. Is it transferrable to someone else when you sell the car?
