Curb Rash/RFT Warranty

Just curbed my rim today - Does anyone know if it's covered under the RFT warranty. I did do a search but couldn't find anything about the coverage under warranty. The rash is atleast 8" long. When I bought the RFT warranty, they told me there is a way around the warranty to have the damage covered. Not sure how it will work. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

maybe if the tire failure caused the damage they might cover the repair but, if you just drove up the curb you are probably on your own. Get into a yellow pages and look for a wheel repair company. they should be able to fix it for 100 bucks or less

why would a tire warranty cover self inflicted wheel damage?

I doubt it's covered. Dig out your warranty contract and read the terms on the back, thats the best way to know for sure.

If it's the BMW's dealer warranty (forgot the acutal provider name...), then, no, I don't believe curb damage is covered. I spoke to them directly and they indicated only damage occurring in the roadway is covered. Damage due to the curb, which defines the outside boundary of the roadway, is not covered.

I'd still call and ask of course. And give them an argument.
