Intake Loses Power?

I've heard that an intake loses power with the n55 intake. People have told me that since it is under the hood, it sucks up more hot air instead of cold which results in a loss of power. Anyone know anything about this because I'm interested in getting an intake. Thanks

i got mine this week. ive heard of this but as far as everyday driving i have yet to notice anything different. better throttle response though

IMO it depends on the circumstance. I had and N54 W/ Injein dual cone intake. And now an N55 W/ Injein again.
Both cars reacted the same. If its 100 degrees outside and you have the AC on in traffic. Then YES IT DEFIANTLY looses power cuz its sucking in hot air. But when its cooler outside like 75 degrees or less, especially when on the freeway I can feel some extra power.

Installed my injen a few weeks ago. Sounds amazing. Has a nice blow off sounds when releasing throttle. I deff do feel some extra power on the highway and the response is better Aswell.

It's an old wives tale...

While it's sometimes true for naturally aspirated cars with a turbo involved high flow is the highest priority. Then air ducting is secondary. I think the BMS N55 intake does a great job of blending the two.
