Thats amazing result for such beast ! I suppose TAX per year is the same for both cars - 335i and M3 E90s ? Also insurance would be a bit cheaper in case of 335i I think.

For more than 570bhp on a 335i you need a single turbo conversion:
Ohhh, havent looked at it Over 400BHP is mental lol. The good thing about 335i is than you just invest a bit of money and the results are fantastic !!!

I think Ill go with 335i as its more economical, 2x cheaper and has a lot bigger potential for BHP gains !

Thanks,

Mat.

M Division build cars for those wanting the most special BMW both having power and handling but I am a little afraid that 335i with over 400BHP will lack the handling so further mods will be needed on the suspension, brakes etc etc.
The 335i's engine when it first came out was the International Engine Of The Year a few times in a row if I remember correctly and its performance and economics have blown everyone away !

I visited BMW saloon today and looked at E90 335i M-Sport LCI and E90 M3 LCI and to be honest M3 looks just special ! The car has been built with finesse- the bonnet vents, the mirrors, exhaust, side skirts and all the rest has no comparison with 335i. The M3 looks more special than the new F10 M5 - its not that fast and luxurious of course but there is that x factor in it ! The 335i just does not seem any special that any other 3 Series in looks both inside and out just except the exhaust !!! Its just a normal 3 Series with a fantastic engine in it.

Hmmmm - M Division is M Division !!!

Regards,

Mat.

10.7 secs for the saloon which I believe is slightly slower than the coupe?

There is more out there.
Both of these are manual cars as well - do not underestimate the difference DCT makes. US mags have gone sub 10 sec - 100mph with DCT. This article reckons DCT is 4 tenths quicker to 100. I reckon 10 - 10.5 seconds easily all day is achievable with DCT.

Ohhh great pal, thanks for that

PS. Ive found the below video of M3 around 430BHP vs 335i around 410BHP :

335i keeps up with V8 beast, further mods added to 335i and it would walk the M3 lol Amazing ! Of course nothing compares to M3 on track !

You can have a 335i with DCT. It's not only on the m3.

The m3 is in a different segment to the 335i. It's built around a tenet of high performance and driver involvement. Hence it's worth the extra money. If I had the cash and it was a second car then I'd not hesitate.

BUT

I drive 20k per year and hence would be crippled by the costs. The 335i is a great balance.

yeah you are right thats why Ill go with 335i just because its a great, fast car and running costs are ok lets say lol Ive got a big family so M3 would not be a good choice by many reasons

DCT on 335i is just on LCI models right ?

For me the 335i is 90% as good as the M3, but when I hook up to a section of twisty roads and come out the other side with a massive smile on my face, thinking how the fcuk did we just do that at that speed, it's an incredible car.

Its an M Division car built for those with racing soul The 335i has just the fantastic engine but the rest of the car is like any other 3 Series.

I think that is very likely. I haven't had my car on the dyno yet with the bigger turbos, but seeing that it is considerably faster than before (where I was already at 456hp with the GIAC stage 2 race map) I would say it's probably at around 500.

Once I get my meth injection system to work properly again, I may try it together with the JB4 as failsafe, then considerably more than 500 should also be in the realm of possibilities.

All you need is around 16k and you can get yourself E60 M5 with over 500BHP - not a big deal is it ? Big deal would be paying for it all the not needed stuff lol

Right now certainly, because his car does not even have an engine in it.

Otherwise no idea, we're probably on par as we have mostly the same hardware. With his upgraded pistons and conrods his engine will rev quicker I imagine, and with the AT his will accelerate better. And not to forget, around the 'Ring he's without doubt the better driver!

Hey, that 335i with single turbo is bloody fast - faster than Ferrari Italia 458 !!!
I suppose if 330i's engine is the same as 335i's engine but just with no turbos would not it be better to buy 330i for 7k and put single turbo on it ? Would save a lot of money then... Its a lot easier to find great 330i rather than good 335i so its worth giving it a try. HPF are doing turbo conversions etc.

Here is the most amazing exhaust system for 335i I have ever seen (no need to mess with mufflers, resonator, cats, downpipes/headers etc) :

What do you think ? Is there more BHP gain if you mess with the exhaust yourself ? It will not pass MOT for sure...

PS. Here you are HPF YT page : http://www.youtube.com/user/HPFChris/featured
