BMW is actually number 9 on the most powerful list, but number 5 in consumer perception. Small note, but I was wondering how it was 9 and you noted 5, had to read the fine print.

It's a sad day when McDonalds is ahead of BMW. Power of the...grease, I guess?

BMW is ranked as first car brand!

It's cheaper to wrap your hands around a Big Mac instead of a BMW steering wheel.

For a minute. VW according to the Forbes May front page, will soon be the largest car company on the planet. I'd say VW is currently more powerful than any other. They are buying everything and everybody. They even own Ducati now.

I was thinking that too but I guess they're talking about the actual brand and not the whole group.

If we're talking about the overall family or group, VW is tops with all those marques under the VW umbrella.

Number 9 on the list, but numero uno when it comes to automakers. The next one I see is Toyota at #14.

Love to see Audi in 32 way below BMW. I'm surprised that Ferrari is not even in the 100.

The post and title have been edited it appears since I and others commented, in order for it to be featured on the front page.

ferrari has about 3% of the revenue of BMW...which isn't even close to vw, toyota or ford....its hard to argue a company with that small of a consumer market, in comparison, would be powerful
