The green springs are the best. Or is it the yellow? Dammit.

Nafoo bucking the trend and being nice and informative? WTH is wrong with you?! Jk.

Search is your friend.

Thumbs down on Akrapovic. Looks beautiful but I believe they're not even 3". And at that price, Eek.

Actually my biggest hurdle about asking what is the best is customers never define what best means to them.

To some the best might be a downpipe that offers performance only. Or maybe has a cat option. Or maybe the materials used or quality of the pipe. or quietest. or sound.

I'm sure there is enough information for the OP in here to decide.

VSFR - cheapest set at ~$385. However some people have complained about their raspiness. I suspect from thinner wall thickness.

Performance wise, all of these options do the same thing.
i hate when people complain that why didnt you "search" if everyone did that, there would barely be any new posts unless a NEW product came out. wheres the fun in that!

also, VSFR sound shitty? im thinking as well of getting DP's, i cant see myself spending almost a g, thats crazy!

VRSFs don't sound shitty, just like some1 said a little more "rough"? It's not becasue the quality of materials is sub-par, its just the design of the downpipes. If you're using them with your OEM exhaust you'll still get that deeper, more aggressive sound

It def isn't going to sound like a honda civic w/ a coffee can on the back, f@ckin street mosquitoes . I'm not sure what REALLY loud is for you, but you can probably google or search the exhaust thread (http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10687) to see if that combination is there for you to get an idea of what it'll sound like

We've installed many different brands at our shop from AR downpipes to eBay downpipes and overall our tech has been satisfied with the price AND fitment of the Macht Schnell downpipes.

I enjoy these threads. As many of them as there are, when I am ready to get some DP's, I'll have no regrets.

The irony in all this is that the forum is gonna be flooded with N54 DP's when everyone wants to switch to the Vishnu single-turbo setup

I highly doubt that. The majority of the owners here are more concerned about retaining their warranty and being close to stock like than going with an all out approach. And we still don't know what the pricing of that kit will be.

And the bigger irony is how many spare parts will be for sale when those same cars end up wrapped around trees. I don't know about anyone else, but 600+ hp in a 3700 lbs car makes me nervous on the streets. IMHO, that kind of power in the hands of an underskilled driver is asking for trouble.

Def agree with your point that 600+ WHP is way too much for the non-M3 E90s out there (unless you heavily modify the chassis, suspension, brakes, tire setup, but even then the traction control is gonna be manhandled by that kind of power). As far aw warranty, a lot of cars will be coming out of their original purchase (4 yrs/50k miles) from 2008 so we'll see, price probably will be the biggest variable in whether or not the single-turbo becomes a realistic mod
