In addition to breaking the e9x stock turbo record today at Sacramento Raceway (85F with a DA of ~2000'), we also broke the overall N54 record. This was our first day testing with new bias ply Hoosier slicks. Still some work to do before it does a clean bog-free launch (which is currently costing us ~0.2s in the 60'). Still, it ran well and put down a 11.105s @ 130.48 pass on the second run of the day. Running on real slicks is very different than running on drag radials. They suck up some power/mph up top since they have a much higher rolling resistance. And the tend to wander a bit when under power. But they offer amazing traction off the line. So much that, for the first time ever, the car is bogging slightly at the launch. Even when 2-stepping at 5500rpm! Just need to make some changes to the 2-step logic to address this. Hopefully next week, we'll go back with this sorted and run that 10.9 that the car should easily be able to run. The car is running 104+MPH in the 1/8th mile. That's 7mph faster than the previous record holder that ran a 11.108 with a 6AT launching in 2nd gear. So yes, the single turbo car will run a lot quicker at this same power level once we work out the launch.

bog really wasnt that bad but keeping it above 4,000rpms all of 1st gear would surely help, slip that clutch a little Shiv. Treat it as a consumable.
good job, now lets see those trap speeds get closer to 135.

Please don't take this as a knock, but that RB turbo car was nowhere near maxed out when it trapped 11.1@127.
I'm sure once you get your traction issues worked out, it will crack 10s and rape RB turbo cars!

It was 85f degrees yesterday when the car ran. And sac raceways recalibrated timing system is a good 2-3mph slower than other tracks. So I think all it would take to see 135mph trap speeds is a cooler day running at another track. Also, I was pretty surprised by how much power those bias ply slicks suck up at 100+mph. It's like driving on flat tires. But the amount of grip they provide off the line is staggering. The change I'm making to the 2-step roll allow me to slip the clutch during the launch which hopefully will get rid of that bog. Too much grip isn't a bad problem to have though. Never thought we would be fighting that "problem".

Congrats on the record! What boost was this at? What is the race weight? Looks like it hooks really well and rolls out, overall a really clean pass... So I suspect fairly low boost.

If he didn't grenade his trans I believe there were 10s in it. ![]() Apples to oranges though, if your car was an auto it would run 10s on stock suspension with very little drama, assuming it held up.
