F10 Coding with E-Sys

I was able to check connectivity with an 2012 F10 yesterday and everything went smoothly. Car connected immediately so at least I know ENET cable to the laptop is configured perfect. I want to also give thanks once again to a great enthusiast in the midwest, who helped me big time in building my Ethernet to OBDII cable for me!! My next step is to get familiarized with navigating through the E-Sys to make the coding changes. As of now its relatively new so there are very limited coding features availabe. I had to refer back to the PDF to make sure the steps were 100% correct, and this slowed down the process, which coding is usually pretty quick! I am sure after a couple more times it will be much easier. Program is so different compared to NCSexpert. I have no idea why they would change over to this because NCS is the shit! Either way it is what it is, and I will keep you posted of my progress.

E-sys is not that hard, is just different. I've been playing around with it for the past two weeks and its pretty straight foward.

I never said its hard, but just different from NCS...More of getting use to something for the first time, once I get more seat time I will be comfortable. I was like this at first with NCS, apprehensive at the beginning. I looked at the PDF and yes it is straightforward but what I dont like is that there is no expertmode to code things back to default like NCSexpert. What do you do when you need to go back to default???

Anyone have a NZB for usenet psdzdata? binsearch.info misses many important parts and findnzb.net gives me an NZB that leads to CRC errors.

I just soldered two ENET cables and waiting for the last part, a 510 ohms 1/4 resistor for each cable which takes about 2 seconds to solder them in ...Anyone interested in these let me know, should be done by next week when the resistor come and I test if they are working.

Just curious, did you ground pins 4 and 6? *EDIT: Meant pins 4 and 5.

I'm revamping my cables with 510Ω 0.5W resistors as soon as they arrive.

Used a snazzy red Cat6 cable too - what do you think?

I didnt ground pins 4 and 5 as others have done the same it and still works! You must have wrote a typo!

The cable you built looks awesome, but it looks as though its kind of short for occasions that you want to code the car with laptop ontop of the car.

I did mine with 6 foot length of cable

Yes, sorry, I meant 4 and 5 (just edited my post). I've grounded all of mine so far. It's good that it works fine even without. It would save a lot of time. Mine is only 4 feet but I always do the coding from the driver's seat so it suits my purposes just fine.
