Me too, I am waiting on resistors as RADIO SHACK doesnt carry that specific 510 ohms resistor 1/4 watts..

Onebadmofo...I have two and when I get those resistors in, you can have the other one as one is already spoken for since I posted on this thread!
Just waiting on resistors and test out if cables work with connectivity, and If it passes the connectivity test, I will send it out to you, granted you pay for the cable parts and shipping Figure by early next week.

Finally had a full session of coding with an F10. Coded VIM and other features to the car. E-sys is actually a great software. I am very comfortable with it now!

I just finished making two Ethernet cables as the final parts came in. Those 510 ohms 1/4 resistors are not an easy find so I had to order them! I have one spoken for, Onebadmofo do you still want the other one? I will take pic of the other one tomorrow..

Why 1/4 W? The spec calls for 0.6 W. Niv is using 1/2 W which should be closer... does it matter?

I have a working cable which I copied from and it works perfect so I did the same exact specs. If Niveh has it working with 510 at 1/2 watt then I guess thats okay too as long as it works.

Here is the specs of what is needed from the cable build:

PIN 3 - Light Blue (CAT 6) would be Green Stripe (CAT5e)
PIN 4 & 5 (Bridged) - Brown (CAT 6) would be Brown (CAT5e) - This is what is grounded to the RJ-45
PIN 11 - Green (CAT6) would be Solid Green (CAT5e)
PIN 12 - White (CAT 6) would be Orange Stripe (CAT5e)
PIN 13 - Orange (CAT 6) would be Solid Orange (CAT5e)
PIN 8 and 16 (Bridged) with a 510ohm, 1/4 (.25) watt resistor

Yeah it's best to use the 510 ohms rated at 1/4.

It's pretty simple now that I made two of them. I can probably make one in 5 minutes. I mastered soldering now! My skill set is increasing each day!!! Lol

You can always use higher wattage Wattage represents maximum power so, having larger one does not affect anything except physical dimensions. As per resistance, most cheap resistors will have 20% tolerance, so 560 ohm will be well within the specs providing you get it with 5% tolerance or lower. I am assuming that there is no requirement for low tolerance on the 510 ohm.

I've been using 0.5W 560Ω resistors and they had been working fine for the most part - I rarely had a few connectivity issues. I'm in the process of switching to the 0.5W 510Ω resistors. Apparently, the cables are very sensitive to the resistance so that should take care of my problems.

Hello,

I've finally had some time tonight to catch up on what's new and out in the coding scene. It's been ~3.5 weeks since you've asked for this, which is quite a long time in the digital world...files spread quickly. Maybe everyone already has access by now, but anyway, hope this helps someone/save someone some time:

I'm just gonna use JDownloader as referenced in the attached. If you downloaded e-sys through binsearch you should have gotten the nfo also; no matter, reference attached nfo.txt.

From the nfo:

Well that's basically it. In the spirit of sharing, if you use the software and find a coding sequence to activate new modules, post it to www.************** or www.bmwcoders.com.
Don't be a douche and keep it to yourself or try to charge $50 for coding when you got the software and knowledge for free.
