330i evo3 ssk question + no foam bed???

I installed a UUC evo3 on my 06 330i and noticed two things. Please comment if you have first hand knowledge:

1. 330i UUC evo3: The evo3 SSK for the 330i has NO bend in it (its a straight bar). Do others have the same experience? It seems that most other applications have a bend in them.

Possibly related, after installing it, mine is cocked to the right. I checked to see that it was installed in the right direction (little screw facing forward) and it is. I wonder if mine was defective or did I screw up somewhere. Comments?

2. FOAM BED: My car had no foam bed around the lever as seen in this DIY guide step 5 (this is for a 335i, which seem to all have the foam bed). Do other 330i owners have a foam bed here or is this normal? Should I order a replacement?

Thanks for the feedback.

Bump cause I would like to know the answer to these questions as well. Just wondering, did you get the DSSR for your SSK as well?

Thanks.

They actually don't make the DSSR for the 330i currently. I called Bavarian Autosport and they said it was unnecessary for people unless they are doing hard racing-type driving. They said they would be glad to take my money (if it was made for the 330i) but it would be a waste. I know this will not sit well with everyone on here but that is what they told me.

For what it is worth, if they did sell it, I probably would have still purchased the DSSR as it seems pretty robust. However, I have most likely decided to uninstall the UUC kit and try the BMW performance kit (at 1/5th the cost). I hope to be able to make comparisons.

Anyone have any feedback about these two items?

to recap:

1. Why is the evo3 settled so far to the right?

2. Does the 330i not come with the foam bed underneath the shift boot like it seems the 335i does?

Thanks.

1) most likely because there is no bend, from what i recall this is common with UUC shifter
2) not important, my 128i may is missing it too. Just sound insulation

You can do this make it a Weighted selector rod like Rouge Engineering shifter

To get DSSR like characteristics, do the following
Get twice the number of new nylon busings( the yellow washer):

Sand them down to fit snug

Thanks for the reply/answers and the tip about a DIY weighted shift lever.

Have you crafted that DIY lever for yourself? I read the link you sent and perused around but didn't see a ton of user experiences. Just curious before I go down that route.

Thanks again.

128/328i shift selector rod is long enough and seems to have good clearance with drive shaft. I will defiantly try.

my plan is the following:

1) Refresh shift link @ transmission ( its a small metal cylinder connected to the transmission and then the OEM selector rod, just 25-40 $ at dealer) - Most slop is becuase of this
The idea is 1mm movement here * selector arm length = big slop @ shift lever

2) Apply the above WSR & nylon bushing DSSR
3) consider the n54 335i/135i OEM shift lever - cheaper than 128i/ 328i BMP ssk lever & because its shorter where it connects to selector rod vs BMP it will have a little bit less throw reduction than BMP SSK ( my desired outcome, BMP to me may be too short)
4) ZHP or F10 m5 shift knob
