can coding cable read error codes

sorry for the noob question, ever since my work blocked e90post i haven't been able to do my in depth research on here like i used to

basically i want to be able to read error codes on my car, but if i can do that through the coding cable it would be cheaper and allow me to do cool little mods. If not i will just get the bt cable and be done with it, thanks.

Yes...thats we use to code with NCSexpert and diagnose the car with INPA or Dis57. ITs the same D-can cable If its newer Fseries cars it requires an ENET cable for coding...Diagnostic on F-series requires ISTA-D which thats another cable called ICOM
