First of all, I would like to thank BMWNA for standing behind their product and assuming responsibility for dealing with this issue in a professional matter.

I own a 11/06 production 335i European Delivery with sports package, AT transmission. I drive like I stole it and I also track my car. I could not live with the fact that my engine was destine to die. I do own my car and I am planning on keeping it for years to come. I know that the E92 will be a collectors item for being the first Twin Turbo since 1972 (correct me if I am wrong).

My experience was that after spirited driving my oil temp would get around 275F. Driving around town would be around 240F or 250F. Now my temp stays around 230F. Once I take it to the track I will find out what's the real difference.

I was turned off by the fact that I had to sign a piece of paper and I guess this is the price we pay by living in America where lawyers have more power than the President. If I was in Germany this would have been handle completely different.

My dealership as well as BMW North America exceeded my expectations and I am glad that I am a BMW owner. Everyone in this forum should be proud to be part of one of the best automakers in the world.

I did not sign a release and got the same retrofit cooler. However, this is the 2nd time I've had a performance issue with a BMW and both times they've made it right.

They do come with one--this is the second one.

I think all canadian cars already came with oil coolers, unlike the US.

On a side note:

I have a 335i coupe without the oil cooler and with the sport package and it's not overheating, and I've driven it hard in hot weather. In fact, I took it on a 7 hour road trip at 85mph average in 95+ temps, without any problems. Chances are, you wont have any either.

It could also be possible that trucheli's silence has to do with the fact that he signed the waiver from BMWNA. I don't know if this if true or not but I heard that once you sign the waiver, you're not allowed to discuss or talk about the oil cooler install, etc etc or else their lawyers will come down on you and you'll void all warranties on your car?? True or false? Beats me why though, I don't understand it either nor have I seen the waiver myself.

Looks like by posting photos and talking about it, he has already impeached whatever he signed.

BTW trucheli, BMWNA just called. They monitor this forum and saw your post. They will be coming by tomorrow morning to remove your new oil cooler.
