I was going to do a charcoal del/k&n drop in...but now i might just save up for the european air box and drop that in...i heard good things about it...my question is...is this the best route to take? or is their another intake that doesnt rob the car like the afe and others? haven't had any experience with the euro airbox but from the looks of it it seems the best, fully enclosed with a cylindrical filter. I think that would be the route best for the money. You can also do a dinan style intake where it scoops up air from the bottom of the bumper.

If you don't want to spend a whole lot, charcoal delete w/ k&n filter. Euro box is a good idea if you don't want to cut anything. The Dinan ram air thing doesn't seem to make it easy if you have to replace the filter.

Thanks. I had seen that. Some members scooped one up around $200. I am wondering if anyone has any contacts overseas or something like that.

I don't think so. It looks completely different. Compare the euro one in the ecs link with that. They are not the same in any way.

Here are some correct ones (already ended): Ebay 1 Ebay 2 This one said 130d but was really for a 130i as there was no 130d ever produced. Just goes to show you that the descriptions are not always right. |

Well, actually the $300+ that ECS Tuning is selling a new Euro box IS cheap compared to the BMW Perf Airbox - which goes for $700+ new
I lucked out and found a member in Singapore that needed my factory standard airbox so he could use the back half for the Performance Airbox he bought - we traded even up, my std for his Euro. We each just paid shipping. So I got my Euro for $50 + the K&N filter I bought for another $45...

Anybody ever tried the BMW performance intake replicas?
Shouldnt be bad since its all about plastics and the filter. Throw a K&N spherical filter and you've saved $500 over the BMW one. Might give this one a try.
