330d following a 335i on track

Not the most thrilling video, but maybe worth a watch if you've not got anything better to do!

Yeah, they're pretty useful. Might be mapped I suppose.

The 335 sounds good though....

Yep, I don't think he was doing himself any favours in the bends - helped the denzil keep up I think.

I don't know but it looks pretty fun. I especially like the wet section - when I saw them hit that bit I was just waiting for one of them to spin out. Looks like they just drifted wide though.

That track is the EuroSpeedway Lausitz in East Germany, near the Polish border.

Bear in mind, it's always easier to follow a car. Leader is testing the boundaries, whereas the follower being in a 3 series just knows that he can comfortably match the leaders moves.

Is it just me? I thought the d only really caught up under braking and in the bends. the d driver seemed to carry much more speed through the bends - could be better driver or have better brakes, suspension and tyres...

335i was auto and seemed to be in the wrong gear at times (you hear it kickdown in the middle of a straight!).

Have to agree. Especially on the gear changes. As soon as it kicks down it pulls away.

All done in the braking.
The 335i is woefully inadequate in the braking department.

How can they be any worse than a car of similar weight and smaller discs?

Thought the 330 guys uprated their brakes to 335 brakes?

I wouldn't say my brakes are bad at all for road use.

I don't think they are racing, neither car looks to be trying too hard and the 335i doesn't sound like it's stressed.

Nice track though.

I have not compared the braking ability of the 335i E9x to anything else here.

Just implied it has crap standard brakes. Which it does.

We are discussing a comparison video of cars on a race track, not the road.

On the track, oem brakes are crap.

Size doesn't always equate to 'better' - check with the missus.

To start with the 335 is at least 60KG heavier, that is a tank of fuel or a small ladyboy....

Ah, I picked up you saying "all done in the braking" was a comparison on the video why the 330d was able to close up.
