Fuel Filters on our Ds...when to Change? - BMW 3-Series (E90 E92) Forum

Does anyone have a concrete answer out there? I mean I've already had two oil changes done on my 2009 335d but my mileage is only at 16,000 kms. (10,000 miles) Still haven't changed my fuel filter.

I've heard it should be changed anywhere from 20,000 miles to 45,000 miles.

Thoughts?

i heard they are to be changed every 20k miles. i think my SA's are lacking.

I wish i could get a copy of dealer schedule maintenance for these vehicles....

Hey John,
My fuel filter wasnt changed on my 2011 335d at 35000km when I went in

Replaced cabin microfilter, brake fluid flush, fluid top off, lubrication, diesel fluid top off, maybe this info helps partially?

Thanks Adrian it does and great point Coolie. It's amazing how many SA and dealers in general are clueless when it comes to diesel vehicles.

At what kilometers/miles should the second oil change be done at?

All depends on the CBS, but on average, 12k oil change intervals for the 335D. I had my second dealer oil change done at 25.5k, first was at 13.8k. I did an in between change at 21k, but really should have been at 20k.

I didn't, and neither did the dealership. It has to go back in for the recall so I'll talk to them about it.
