I know they sell a garmin variant for hong kong. Its very pricey but it'll have english on it for sure. Not sure how well garmin works in Hong Kong though

I've searched around for Garmin Nuvi's but HK doesn't seem to have them. I've checked out Mong kok and wan chai so far. Any ideas?

Cheers

I got GPS on both of my car. I honestly don't use it much. Maybe once or twice a year?! The problem is in hk the buildings will block the gps signals in city area which in the pass leaded me driving around circles. What I do nowadays is just read up google map before I leave home.

Theres a small shop at Wan Chai computer center. I'm not sure what is their name but they mostly sell headphones but have garmin units in the back.

2nd floor check it out

+1 thats what i do as well. Google map and street view, takes a bit more time but it gets the job done. Also i'm using my htc one x and the GPS software on it is pretty accurate, so i use that as my emergency GPS.

yea its very limited, not a very high demand product in hong kong. They say the Papago ones aren't bad but you'd have to understand chinese.

Do u have a TomTom? They have HK map (English only) & if u know where to look, they're free & always updated. Otherwise if u have Android fone then Sygic have HK map as well.

Am using sygic on my IPhone now until I can get a Garmin. The Gps drove me crazy. HK roads are not well sign posted/incorrectly sign posted, exits are too close, the one way systems drive me loopy, and no longer can i drift, skid and 360 into a parking space. A 10 minute journey on the public transport system can take me an hour.

What fun!
