well I'm out of warranty so don't care. If I set to Map 0, can the dealer read the codes like normal, or it needs to be fully taken out? I'm getting limp mode occasionally and think it's a sensor.

ive been gettin hpfp codes but only under heavy boost when the car is shifting gears in 1st,2nd, sometimes 3rd... car is going to the dealer on wed for the hpfp warranty and the battery cable recall...im not sure if i take the jb4 out if i can replicate the fuel pump misfires while stock...if i just remove the jb4 and leave the codes do u think bmw will find out? my only codes are the exhaust flap, radiator bind, and the fuel pump code

Mike

I just had to remove my jb4 since I'm getting my turbos replaced under warranty.
I did clear the codes, but I didn't mess with my maps at all.
Was I supposed to put it back to map 0 before I removed the jb4?
I kept it at map 5, just cleared the codes, waited 10 minutes, then removed it.

No makes no difference once its out, as long as you cleared the codes.

I believe there is a separate can tool you can buy for reading and deleting codes. Or you can take it to a shop that can read and delete the codes for you but that will cost money. I'd say reinstall your jb4 and delete the codes.

I have a N55 JB4 stage 2 with all the updated firmware. I am taking my car in for an oil change Monday. How do I clear the codes? I was going to clear them then put it to map 0.

Easiest way would be to plug it into your computer and do it through the JB4 software.

With the USB? I didn't buy the USB and if I'm right, you can clear it with the JB4 in your car?

Yes you can. Put it in map 1. Then put the speedo at 1 and the RPM's at 3. That will enable auto clear. once you do that. Put it in Map 0 and you can remove the Jb4.

Here is where you can find a lot of information if you ever need it.
