Has anyone done this kind of Ambient light in their E90?

they now have it with a bias strip so you can sew it in or wedge it really well

All you basically have to do is tap into one of the other ambient lights for a 12v switch. I used the one light in the drivers footwell, just tapped into that.

Thanks for the tip. But if tapped to the footwell light, wouldn't the ambience lights turn off when the doors are closed? What if I want them to stay on?

Maybe the power that goes to your dash buttons. But I don't know if it'd set off a code in a BMW.

If you want it to stay on you can just tap into the ambient dome light (orange led) as a 12v source. Wiring isn't going to be as straightforward but should get the outcome you are looking for.

12V power point under glove box sounds like a good idea! I already have my dashcam wired to it so I might as well do the ambient neons too.
